the plane we're travelling on is only two aisles? I did a seat request and put the aisle and the one next to it because DP has broad shoulders he needs the aisle or we get squashed! We have flown multiple times from Brisbane to Auckland & return with Air NZ & we take the portacot, stroller & car seat plus 20kg bag for free. We get the car seat wrapped in plastic at the airport.   The last time we flew DS was 20 months. He did really well & just slept on our lap for an hour & then played on our laps or watched stuff on our iPhones the rest. Do a seat request on line and try and get the seats in the middle (the ones with three) as they tend not to put anyone next to you then she will end up with a seat anyway (IYKWIM) And try and get one that has a bassinet even though you won't be able to use it the extra leg room is great. I was in the same situation. We are going in March to Brisbane aswell and couldnt understand their website. I ended up ringing them just to make sure I wasnt having a mummy moment... Have you booked a basinette with them? I took DS to Aussie at 8 weeks old, and he slept the whole time, both ways, in that basinette! That's the same wording they've had all along. I remember when we flew last (December) that was the wording and I was all worried about it but no...infants have the same luggage allowance as the adult PLUS you can take a stroller and car seat. I remember finding it somewhere on their site but can't now...aha...here it is..."strollers and carseats are permitted free of charge when travelling with an infant". I know this has been asked before the rules have changed and I'm getting confused about it all.

So who has travelled with an infant internationally in the last couple of months?

We're travelling to Brisbane in March and I am wondering what the rules are with car seats. DD will be on our lap so car seat needs to go in cargo, I know they used to allow strollers and carseats ontop of luggage, but the website says now that an infant is entitled to the same baggage allowance as travelling adult including stroller and car seat. I'm having a brain fart and that means that I may have to pay for the carseat?
