Yep, we just checked ours in as luggage, and it was fine. Ok thanks ladies. I might wrap it in a blanket or something and then put it in a bag and cover it in "Fragile" stickers just to be sure . I'd hate for it to be damaged in transit.

As much as I'd love to have it on the flight with us, its not really worth paying for a seat for DS, especially since its only a 30min flight. I would make sure they put it in bag before you leave it with them I just assumed they put in a bag and ours both came out the other end as is. We also lost teh seat cushion from DD.

Yep, what SER said. If you're buying a seat for your little guy it can go on the plane as a booster seat. But if not they go as checked luggage. Prams and carseats do NOT count as extra luggage so you don't have to worry about taking it instead of a bag. Oh, but I'd recommend covering it in something if it is being checked in (double layer of garbage bags or something similar) as they get pretty dirty and can rip on some of the conveyors. Unless you are paying for a seat for your little one you can't take it on the plane. It will be checked in as luggage and put in a bag with a tag on it. They normally drop them in the oversized baggage area at the destination.

We will be flying to Nelson in the next few weeks and will be getting a hire car while there so I am wanting to take our Radian down with us.
Has anyone done this? Where do they put the seat? Am I best to call the airline direct and sort it out?
