I can recommend Glenda Southey at The Midwives in Green Bay if you are happy to travel to her. She was brilliant, I had her as my mw for Ben and willnhave her next time as well. She was very gentle and caring, very supportive.
From memory she only needed to change one appt as she had been at a birth all night but did give me the option to meet her at the hospital at an earlier time than my original appt, which suited me.

A friend had her for #1 and #2, #2 was a VBAC and my friend was very happy with her.

I hope you find someone good, those sound like really tough situations. I had Lee Moselen and thoroughly recommend her - she's based in Epsom, but also has a weekly clinic in Mt Eden.

She was brilliant - very experienced, so I imagine she does VBAC. She's quite no nonsense, but that was the sort of approach I appreciated.

She was always on time, and on the one occasion she had to cancel an appointment she texted me. I had a few problems towards the end, and she would always return my call/text and fit me in for a check.

ETA - I ended up having a c-section and she was with me throughout, and went into battle for me when they wanted to transfer me from National Womens to Middlemore because National Womens was full (I got to stay where I was!)

PLEASE recommend me your fantastic midwife. I know there's some out there somewhere!

I've had 3 dreadful MW experiences. For my daughter the MW was so busy that by 33 weeks I had only seen her twice although met 4 back up midwives.
At 33 weeks i went into labour and one of the backups didn't even bother to assess me despite contractions 5 minutes apart for over an hour because "you're only 33 weeks" and "you don't seem concerned enough for it to be labour". 5 hours later I had my DD by c-section because she was transverse breech and had gone into distress.
Then to cap it all off they failed to turn up to 4 of the post-natal appointments that they had made with me without any explanation.

On top of that for my miscarriages the midwifes (all different ones from different services) vanished into thin air after making a single referral to other services when the 13 week scan showed problems. I ended up with the hospital thinking the GP or MW was following me up, the GP thinking the hospital or MW following me up and no-one actually following me up.

That's a lot of background explanation but I just wanted to make clear how desperately I need a recommendation for a GOOD RELIABLE midwife who would support a VBAC. I'm in Mt Roskill (National Women's catchment) although I'm happy to travel for the right person.
