My neighbour likes to throw up in the drain on the road outside both our houses. She doesn't look pregnant and I'm not sure why she chooses to throw up every morning on the road where everyone can see instead of in the privacy of her own home but it sure makes leaving for work interesting

The neighbours before that liked to "wash" their dishes by piling them on the lawn and letting the rain/roaches/their dog clean them. They also liked to play Xbox so loudly that I could hear it from my house over the noise of what I was watching on TV.

The neighbours who live behind me have a band and have band practice once or twice a week in the garage. Usually coinciding with DD's day sleep....or her going to bed at night. One of our neighbours apparently throws his rubbish on our back lawn (we are the last house left with a quarter acre section on our street so theres three houses next door and because its behind the old shed we can't see it. So the boys go and piss on the fence next to his house hahaha they pick the rubbish up and chuck it on his roof as well.

One of our other neighbours calls mum at work to complain about the noise. (my bro is noisey I'll give you that and plays music till all hours of the morning) theres normally boys around every weekend. We've been here for over 20yrs they moved in about 5rs ago and built their house behind the original at the back of the section. But instead of coming over and saying can you please turn the music down/keep it down my kids are trying to sleep she calls mum to complain. If she had just come over in the first place the boys are completely reasonable and would have just said sorry and turned it down. Oh and her daughter tried to get my bro in trouble and told her mum she saw him pissing out his window (he didn't).

Umm other then that our neighbours are ok. Oh there is a bunch of people across the road that are younger and have parties most weekends and I can hear the music but its not enough to bother me and keep me up. our neighbourhood always has something going on, its enough to actually sell the TV's Here are a few stories that come to mind:



Just last week our neighbours across the street were having a domestic and the guy put his arm through their glass door. Turns out he tore through 4 muscles, an artery and a tendon. Lucky DH was home as he has had a bit of training.


We have a group of islanders who live next door and there is always someone coming and going at all hours of the day and night, their driveway backs on to our bedroom and
we don't have a fence inbetween. They certainly aren't quiet. There must be at least 10 people living there ranging from 6yo to 50yo.
The same neighbours were up at 5am on Xmas morning with Snoopys Christmas blasting.


Our neighbours behind us constantly scream and shout. Either we hear things being thrown around their house and them swearing, or we hear very loud and descriptive s*x noises.


Other neighbours have parties every second weekend or so which last till about 4am. Last weekend it involved burning couches.


Oh, and a couple of years ago we had some police turn up on our doorstep to do a raid on our house. Turns out the guy before us was a known criminal and drug dealer and our house was his last known address.

My rellies had a flat of teenage boys living next door, who were cultivating drugs in the back yard and had built an entire wing out the back from building junk. There were parties every weekend and people coming and going all day everyday. In the end all the neighbours got to together and called the community constable. The cops then did covert montioring and a few weeks later the drug squad raided the property and called their parents. The landlord, who was being paid in drugs got a warining and pinged by the council for having a building in such poor repair. Karma!

We have awesome neighbours there are a church going family with young kids, who work hard. They are friendly and make no real noise. Biggest problem is the local kids using the nextdoor park for motorbike riding, which is a tad annoying, but they have 50cc bikes and have to leave when it gets dark, and there's not much else to do, so can't complain.

It was ages ago now  - but they basically said that unless they actually "did" something they wouldnt be able to send anyone around. Apparently them threatening and screaming at us wasnt enough?!?!?

Wow, I feel really lucky. We have wonderful neighbors on both sides. They have young kids the same sort of age bracket as mine so we get on really well. I'm always over at both of their houses for cups of tea/coffee and playdates.

The latest incident was last weekend. Neighbours ditched their kids with us and went out without telling us..... 3 hours later they finally came home.. apparently cos they left a note on their front door that was supposed to make it ok. The only reason we found out is cos I told the kids it was time to leave cos we were getting ready to go out ourselves only to be told that no one was home. Makes me wonder how many other times they've done it actually

Hubby and my first flat after we got married was the end part of a house that had been converted into 3 smaller self contained units. The walls were really thin and our bedroom wall (the main one) obviously backed onto the other person's living room/bedroom. Anyway, they would play their tv really really loud so we could hear everything that was going on, but most annoyingly, they left their Dvd player & TV on for an ENTIRE WEEKEND whilst they went away. The dvd was obviously on it's menu screen and we just had to listen to the music loop over and over and over again. Do you have a local community constable - its prob better to contact them in the first instance, have  chat about your concerns and just see what they would advise. A quiet chat from a "local" police officer rather than "the cops"....will prob work wonders!  Even if it doesnt happen again, I would still give them a call - just to let them know that it has happened, that way if anything more serious happens, they have a record of it.

We used to have a "family" of courier drivers next door to our old place, they would go out and start their diesel vans at 4.30am and leave them running to warm up for at least 30mins before tearing out of the street, the driveway was right next to our bedroom window so not a nice wake up each day. They also used to get really trashed and very loud, so one sat night DH leaned over the fence and asked them to keep the noise down....they came over and started banging on our front door and trying to kick it in, threatening us and being really agressive. I was freakin terrified!! They were big big blokes who were very drunk. We rang 111 and they basically said that they couldnt do anything about it. Not a nice experience. We lived in fear of our neighbours for another 3mths before they moved out - thank goodness. Interestingly, after they moved out I was talking to the property manager, who told me I should have contacted him straight away and he would have kicked them out! DOH - didnt think to let him know!

Yes, it definately was deliberate, she would have had to climb on a chair, reach over a two metre glass wall and tip something! Old people! If it happens again I will definately call the police, I'm not that keen to clean my car every other day!

I hate to think about what our neighbours think of us! Well not us, mainly just my grandparents who seem to be day/night confused (so sleep during the day and up all night)...

Anyway, our neighbours all seem to keep to themselves but we do have one weirdo neighbour who literally drives all over the road and cuts you off constantly, esp as we share a drive way. One of these days he is going to cause a crash.

some of you have bad neighbours. the worst thing our neighbours have done is refused to give permission for us to spend 6k to get arborists in to chope down the HUGE bluegum trees that are blocking all our houses from getting sun.

OMG. I must say I am kinda relieved to hear we are not the only people with neighbour problems! We have a rental next door and so far have had a family that were there for 6 weeks then just up and left (apparently after paying no rent). We had repo men and bailiffs visiting for about 3 months! Then the teenage boys in their first flat who eventually got kicked out after one too many midweek parties (never knew you could fit 100 bodies in a 95 sq m house!) Then the arabs who smoked the most noxious recreational tobacco who got raided and I think deported or put in prison. Currently we are enduring some sort of low IQ invasion with people who do not understand what please don't play your base in your car so loud right by our house means. They have not done any gardening so the fence now needs to be replaced (which the owner can not afford) and currently have a large swimming pool in the garage. I get so angry but what can you really do?? Everyone else out there - I feel your frustration!!

Our neighbours play loud bassy music at all hours from their garage. DD's room faces onto the bit closest to the garage so it's really annoying. DH has called noise control on them at 3am some mornings because he has a headache from their music and can't get to sleep.

The police visited them late at night a few nights ago, DH went out to check what the noise was and 1 of the guys jumped over their fence onto our property to hide from the police. DH and our flatmate told him to go jump and get lost back over the fence.

I wouldn't retaliate at all. If they are pooring stuff over your car I would call the police. It will just escalate if you do something back. Otherwise I would go with DH and ask her nicely if there is a problem and that if it happens again you will go to the police. Be sugary nice and take the higher road. Urgh one of our neighbours is completely psychotic. We were throwing a ball against the fence that joins our properties. Sure it makes a noise, but we are doing it in the late afternoon at a reasonable hour, and this fence is down the very very back of their really really long back section, miles away from their house. Not to mention they live ten metres away from a main railway line, so it's not like we were disturbing the peace!

The guy that lives there has asked us once before, very rudely, to stop making that noise because it pisses him off. So we used a softer ball to make less noise, and a couple of months later we are doing it again and he comes out and full pelt yells at us, using a swear word for almost every word in his sentences. That guy has serious anger issues and needs to chill out! Asking politely and being civil would get you a much better response.

This from the guy who mows his lawns right outside out bedroom window, once a week, at bloody 7 o'clock in the morning while I'm trying to get DD to sleep in for another hour or two. That is shocking!

Our upstairs neighbours a few years ago were throwing rubbish out of their windows onto our garden path. Then one day we noticed used condoms amongst the litter. Sick! So I told those boys off and to be fair, they looked suitably embarrassed.

Our neighbours at the moment are nice and quiet, but they do pick the most annoying times to run their boat motor (9.30pm when I'm trying to get Chloe into bed - luckily she hasn't noticed yet). I wouldnt relaliate, that just leads to more stuff happening.... and we all know (well I do), how crazy some old ladies can be. I suppose you have tried talking to her about things? My neighbours haven't done anything like that, but they are in their 50s and have raging parties every 2nd weekend over summer. But as a special treat they had TWO parties this weekend!! Just out of interest, who else has problems with their neighbours? What have they done? What have you done in retaliation?

Just having problems with our neighbour, just yesterday she tipped some sticky mess all over my car...she is a 70year old woman, you would expect this level of maturity from a 10 year old!!!
