Even the tears and stitches seem like nothing (well, almost nothing...), and it's only been just over a week.

I think my disappointment about having to have the surgery & anaesthetic was more about being away from Anton for 3 hours or so, and missing out on lots of cuddles & our first visitors. And just the irony really of doing it without much pain relief for that to happen!

Ooo, yeah, the loss of blood takes it out of you a bit too, doesn't it?

We came home from the hospital on Wednesday and had two hellish nights as I don't have enough milk for him. We are supplementing with formula at the moment but am really concerned I won't ever have enough as he is a really hungry little guy. His last feed this morning he took the breasts for 30min then about 80/90ml of expressed milk and another 20 of formula. Hard to hear m/w say not to worry about milk - I CAN get it out when I express (though still not much) but he can't be sucking anything when he's on me
He is a darling and I am coming to terms with having to give him formula as a top up (and overnight so I can express) as its the best thing for him. My DH is so supportive too...

Lucky for them I have a smell craving for cleaners so am always cleaning something.

I would really like to go back to sleep though.

Hope you get the little monster to turn around!

I have a big bulge quite high up where her knees and feet are. My m/w cracked up when she saw me it looks very odd.
I got told if she stays like this I am in for a very long labour and chances are will have to be induced as without her head in the right position labour won't be triggered! Joy! So now I am spending as much time as possible on my hands and knees (much to DH's delight) and leaning forward on chairs etc to try to get her to turn

How is everyone doing?

Contractions are getting longer but are still fluctuating between 7 and 10 mins between.

The waiting is really getting to me and I dont know what I can do to try speed it up at all. I hope that this doesnt continue for another day. I might have to have a stern talking to Roo soon and try and get this moving. Have been continuing to loose more of my mucus plug throughout the day which is kinda gross but I am hoping it is bringing us closer to the end. Waters still in tact and now just waiting.

My normal midwife doesnt get back until this evening so she may miss out, but she is going to call the relief midwife as soon as she lands for an update, so I guess we will have to see. She may be heading straight to Waterford when she lands. It was so good though to drop them off and then come home and know we had the house to ourselves again for a while.

Good to hear that your little girl is happy and healthy in there. 3.1 kgs already? I really hope you get the midwife to accept the 28th as the date rather then the 7th of May cause otherwise she could be a big baby.

Well another action packed day planned for me that includes a small amount of housework and then laying on the couch for the rest of the day I think.

I have been feeling naueous since yesterday lunchtime though which has not been fun and had some belly pains start last night and a few again this morning. Not sure if they are anything or not, as they are just a ache right across my lower abdomen and the ones last night were there and in the right side of my back. Oh well we can only wait and see. I would kinda like Roo to wait until after the holiday weekend to make an appearance but if it does happen then I would also be thrilled. Just would prefer to have my own midwife there rather then a stand in. I could of course be worried over nothing and just have gas or something (TMI).

How is everything else feeling today? Are you looking forward to the long weekend?, not that a long weekend seems to mean much when you are off work all the time.

I have had b/p issues since early in the pregnancy and they like to check the placenta and cord b/p and make sure growth is ok. I was hoping to get a 4D scan this time and DH was really looking forward to it, but she is way too low in the pelvis and had her hand on her face
She is doing really well in there though, growing well and quite happy. Already?
My concern is with 3 and a bit weeks to go that this child is going to be huge. It is already the size of my last two friends babies at birth. Eeeek!

The best thing is though that my m/w is trying to change my dates at this late stage and put them back to the 7th May and the scan (once again) points towards the original date of 28th April. This is an argument I will have with her next week when I see her again.

So ready for it to be over though. Oh well Easter will hopefully speed things up a bit, will just have to try and get some of the easter eggs away from my DH. We are just sitting around waiting for the baby now, but taking MIL to airport tomorrow afternoon so a bit of change of scenery.

Seems to be a bit less humid today which is nice.
Hope you start to feel better soon Jo, having a cold is horrible, i got one about 36 weeks too and was really grumpy at work, thankfully i was down to short shifts.

I have heard a lot of people say that the last 4 weeks are when you grow fastest, which I have noticed too. Even some of my preggy tops are getting a bit short due to change in shape.

I had a great sleep last night which I really needed, I felt like i was going top die yesterday. Lets hope there is another good night sleep on the horizen tonight.

Right I am off to try and organise lunch and try and stay away from ordering nappies online. Must resist, but some are just so cute.

But it's just all little chores.

Feeling a bit sorry for myself- have a cold and can't really do much about it. Got a bit of a tickly cough now too, which is not nice. Ah,well, it will go away eventually.

Not too much else going on round here...just the belly getting bigger and bigger...quite a few people seem to think I won't make it to due date, but we'll see!

Hope everyone else is having a good day!

I am North of Auckland so my choices were Warkworth or Helensville, both of which are booked up solid around our due date. Have been tossing up whether to put our names down anyway, but don't want to be disappointed at the time. We are having the baby at the hospital anyway which is still a 40 minute drive from home, so I am almost in the mind that maybe I should just stay there. Sometimes lying on my back is the most comfortable position to be in, then I have to find inventive ways of getting up again! I get frustrated that I have to get up so many times a night, cause I am suffering from restless leg syndrome and it takes FOREVER to get to sleep at night. I really commend the women who worked till late in their pregnancy. I lasted till 7 weeks (was temping as an office junior) then the job finished. I had bad morning sickess till 18 weeks, but after that in amongst my many complaints, I feel like I could have done something productive. Not now though as I am having to sleep till 11am-noon just to catch up on what I missed in the night. So I really commend the women who have other children at home too! I don't think I would cope.

I now understand why they say the last 8 weeks is the worst! I've got 7 and a half weeks left and that's more than enough.

So maybe it is ok if we chat?

I have always felt torn about which thread I should be in anyway as my EDD by my radiologist and my dates is 28th April, but my midwife goes by 2nd May.

I have just finised work so tomorrow is my first official day of maternity leave. This means that we have around a month until our girl is due. I have my fingers crossed for April

I am starting to feel very sick of being pregnant, although I do love feeling Sam moving around in there.
