I hired a proper side impact booster seat for a trip I was making not long ago, as my other one was still on layby and it cost me all of $10 to hire for 3 weeks

I'm leaning more towards they don't know enough about anchor points although DH did call them and they explained that the carseats they provide have tether straps but their station wagons ex Wlg don't have anchor points and they can't fit them in those cars. That's the bit I disagree with (since we've now found another rental place ex Wlg that does the same station wagon WITH anchor points).

Creative packing to get stuff into a camry would be fine but I'd hate to get there and find we just can't get everything in ..DH suggested I could sit between the boys in the back and we'd put the suitcases in the front seat. AHH NO THANKS!

Our other option is to bring our own car seats for both kids since ours don't have tether straps. But as I'm flying back solo with the boys I'd really rather not!

Anyhoo it looks like this other company (Go Rentals I think?) can put car seats in their station wagons so we should be set. Just going to cost us another couple of hundred bucks

I have a XR6 with about the same boot space (our previous car was a camry) and when I put our double engima buggy in it, with wheels on, there isn't too much space.

BUT two small kids in car seats means you can pack their stuff in behind the front seats or portacot might fit there.

Unless your hiring an absolute dunger of a car the bolts should come as part of the car.

The station wagon camry I drive has 6 anchor points in the boot. I do need an extension as my child is still rearfacing.
I would investigate further into what they are saying about the station wagons, they sound like the dont know what they are talking about

Is there much space in the boot once the pram is in there? Eg for suitcases, a portacot and all the other cr*p you need when you travel with two kids? We were hoping to rent a station wagon when we come over in March but the car rental company can't fit their carseats in their station wagons (they don't have the bolts for the tether straps on the seats). They have suggested going for a Camry instead...

I reckon we'll be coming over with 2 large suitcases, portacot and our P&T Vibe with double kit.
