Thanks think I need it! I got my hair cut so I would feel good at interview but my hairdresser has moved to chch so this other chick cut way too much off I really don't like it. In my (limited) show home experience the show-person is a bit more hands on then a real estate agent - pointing out what can be modified, having sample books of tiles, linos, carpets to show, mentioning other show homes that have different features etc.

Have a look at Seek as they have salary ranges for jobs. I am currently interviewing for new jobs and that quetion has come up often and I also state no less than what I am currently on which seems to be fine with everyone that has asked the question.

Thanks I have read up on their website which is very comprehensive.

I have never looked through a showhouse as not in a position to build do they fully show you through pointing out the features? when we bought our house the real estate agents tend to just let you look through yourself no real sell - guess they figure you either like it or you don't.

do your background research about the company, what sort of houses they have, what their market is, how long they have been operating. check out their photos to see what they usually put into their houses, if possible visit the showroom or one of theirs. also do some research into what people are looking for in a house. i.e. storage, easy clean etc. think about if you were selling your house what are the good features that you would point out, how would you overcome things that people say they dont like (this will mostly be about the flexibility of the plans and features the showhome have available). also do some research into the building materials the company uses.

I know it seems like a lot, but research is huge in my opinion and was when I was employing sales staff as a manager. It shows that you are genuinely interested and passionate about the products.

Showing people through show homes, you are most likely going to be part of the front line team as many potential customers will look around showhomes to find a company whose building style they like. So I have a job interview on Wednes morning a part of me is a bit sad I have to get a job and leave my babies and another part a bit excited as it will be a chance for some adult conversation!

We are being as careful as but still we really need the extra $$. The hours are good 40 over a month and DH and MIL will look after the twins perfect.

I am keen to ace this interview its is for a sales job which I have zilch experience in but plenty of customer service experience.   

So any tips about the sales would be appreciated - it is showing a show home and as the ad said you need computer skills I imagine it also involves making bookings for interested parties to meet with the sales planners etc.
