I enjoyed 'Tully' by Paullina Simons. It was one of the ones before 'The Bronze Horseman'. It's pretty serious but I thought it was a good read.

For something a bit different, I always recommend 'The Poisonwood Bible' by Barbara Kingsolver. It's about a fictional family that move to the Congo to do missionary work. It was a bit of a tearjerker in the end.

An amazing autobiography is 'The White Masai' by Corinne Hofman. Another Africa book, but it's real. It's almost too interesting to be real though!

I've got some of the Janet Evanovich (sp?) books if you want to borrow them.   Also some Marian Keyes, Jeffery Deaver, James Patterson. Ive found the same with Jodi Piccolt, same structure each time and feels pretty repeatitive once you get 5 books down the track!

My favourite author is Belinda Alexandra. Have just finished her book called Tuscan Rose, very good. Her others are
White Gardinia, Silver Wattle and Wild Lavender.


Jennifer Donnelly is another great author, her books The Tea Rose and then the Winter Rose are amazing.

Light hearted I agree with the Bounty Hunter books, can read those books quickly.

And Lastly - The Bronze Horseman by Paulina Simmons is great, one of my favourite books and have read it 3 times - HOWEVER - the rest of her books that have come afterwards seem like they are written by a totally different author. I am reading into the wilderness by Sara Donati atm. I read it ages ago and really enjoyed it. Bought it online at Whitcouls (cheaper than instore) recently and am loving it again. Very similar type thing to the Cross stitch series. I don't do scifi stuff really but also re-read Magician by Raymond E Fiest again recently - great! Kathy Reichs is good as is Jeffry Deaver. Umm... All I can think of now.

I've found that too. I loved them at the beginning but haven't bothered with the last 4 she has released.

I find that Jodi Picoults start to be a bit repetitive, sure the main theme is different, but the structure,all the same .
Family dilemma/tragedy often close friends involved, court case, usually found not guilty , friendship never resolved blah blah blah the end.

If you like John Grisham, you might like Richard North Patterson, quite political, but good story lines, I've just read Balance of power by him.

Thanks Kim, I have only read that one and My sisters keeper, will keep an eye out for some more and those other 2 authors as well.  CrazyCass I have read a few, the runaway jury comes to mind and the firm, I didnt think I would like that genre of book but they are a really good read.  Have you read the confession yet?  Excellent book!

If you like Jodi Picoult and have read all her books, I would recommend looking into Kristin Hannah. Another author i like in a similar genre (more romance though) is Barbara Delinsky

I am loving my books at the moment I just finished John Grishams new one The Confession which I enjoyed and also just read Handle with Care by Jodi Picoult which was also a good read.  So what are you reading at the moment or have read recently that you would recommend?  Would love to know some other authors to look out for, I am sick of Danielle Steel now I have read just about all of her books now I think lol!
