What are the tears for K??

What is everyone's babies up to nowadays? Sam is currently running around like a mad baby... he doesn't know it yet, but he's going down for a nap, mwahahaha!

His night sleeps have turned to absolute MUSH, and is hanging with mum and dad in our bed most of the night. I would like a good night sleep soon bubba!

ALSO he has only just realised he can turn from back to front, so it is a big mission to get him to sleep now... joy.

In fact, the way this beautiful little boy sleeps (or doesn't sleep) makes me not want to have another baby, which sucks... Hey newbies, Hope ya found a good playdate Guest - sounds like numberone will be your buddy!

I'm down in Palmy - so would be a bit of a drive up to you!

My little buddah is 8.5months old and is not near moving yet... I think he may try being a bum shuffler! I have tried the tummy time and he's slowly getting used to it - but won't last longer than 60secs before packing a tanty and rolling onto his back.

So may just leave him to it... can't be too bad really? Might slow his walking down...but is that a bad thing??

Pea - in a -pod : DS is a terrible sleeper too - but not too bothered (as in, not going to do anything about it, happy to feed him when he wants at night) His day sleeps are ok, usually two during the day ranging from 1 - 2 hours.

Sleep deprivation can be a killer huh?! Think DP is helping with the night feeds tonight! Woot woot!

Ah, Auckland.  I used to live over the bridge - much happier in a smaller town now!  Are there any Plunket rooms around you could drop into? Playcentres? Church groups? Mainly music or something?  I hope you find something suitable.

Caleb is just coming up 7 months now.  He's just started pulling himself forward on his tummy so I need to think about childproofing again. He's just starting on solids, but I'm pretty lazy regarding that. He just gets rice and veges at the mo!

hiya everyone, can i join you on here? im new to ohbaby & think its an awesome site! i have a gorgeous wee girl - paige - born 22 july last year! she is my first & i love her to bits & would play with her all day if i didnt have anything else to do! tho somedays she sends me around the bend with her lack of sleep. at the moment she is starting to sit up by herself - still rawther wobbly! - and is 'swimming' & bringing her knees up to crawling position. she has been a terrible sleeper, but the last couple of weeks i have been putting her into a very rigid routine with controlled crying during the day at sleep time - cant bear it at night - and ive got some homeopathic relaxing drops that i give her that help to settle her. the last two nights i have only had to get up to her twice, once for a feed & the other for a snuggle & back to sleep. FX super tight that it will carry on like that!!

how was everyone's Christmases? We had a nice chilled out day in the sun out at my Mum's house. Sam loved all the attention, the wrapping paper and his first SOLIDS MEAL! Big boy growing up!

Also I made it into the New Year... and headed to bed 30mins later!

DS's sleeping is getting better...routine in place and day two beginning now! Let's see how this pans out and hopefully within the week we will only be getting up once a night!

Hi everyone,

Hopefully this is the right place to post. I'm a first time mum and our wee boy was born 28th July. His name is Cooper McCaw Noah O'Brien ... Hopefully he'll be a good luck charm for the world cup : ) We're based on the North Shore Auckland. I'm loving being a mum! It's so scary how fast everything goes though! I was wishing things to happen, like a first smile and now I'm hoping they slow down : )

Gee- George is getting heavy my arm is killing. I wanted to have him weighed but he was asleep when plunket came. I might have to weigh myself and then weigh him and subtract my weight to see how much he weighs (is this effective?)

I am far too busy to miss work really- far to many social engagements and lots of cute baby moments too. Welcome Olaz.
I hope every one is coping with their little bundles-It has been sooo quiet on here lately- you must all be too busy being mummies to play on the computer LOL
2boysnbug- Can't believe Addie(our oldest forum baby) is nearly 4 months-How did that happen?? Who has the youngest? I can't remember!

Yes I'm a first time mummy and loving it (most days!). It's great being at home with my little man every day and every day gets easier. I too am staying off work until July next year. I'm really excited by that, right now I hate the thought of missing anything. Hi July mums,

I'm new to this but have been reading the thread this morning and loving it.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but my little one was born in July (12 weeks today) & I'm hoping to meet mums whose bubs are around the same age. My existing coffee group will break up soon as the other mums are going back to work. I'm not going back just yet thankfully. I'll be so sad to lose them & need to replace them with equally amazing mums.

She may just drop that 3.30am feed, Bug used to have a 4am feed (ages ago) and she just stopped waking up for it. I was always worried about "mucking" with her sleeps incase I broke her and she stopped sleeping as well . I had started to bring her bedtime forward, I think we got to 8.30pm, then daylight savings changed and she started going 12hrs and showing all the signs of wanting to be in bed but 7.30pm so we've just kind of gone with it. Your DD1 sounds like ours MrsMJD. She's always been a great sleeper. When she was smaller it was a real struggle to get her to go to sleep but once asleep she'd stay that way for ages. We would wake her to feed her to get her in a good routine and make sure she was getting enough food. She's 10.5 weeks now and I'm hoping she'll be doing 12 hours like your DD by 12 - 14 weeks, although not holding my breath.

On that note, DD currently feeds at 7pm then about 3.30amish. Yep and "hey there, georgie boy" and mostly he still gets called Georgie Pie (our preg tummy name for him) Yummmm I miss "Georgie pie" Pies.

We've had a few giggles. I keep trying to get more cause they make me melt everytime.

Bug is booked for her jabs and 2nd rotorix this coming monday.

Bex I'm sorry to say I'm one of those evil mums with an awesome sleeper. Lauren has been doing a minimum of 6hrs straight since about 2weeks old and in the last few days has been doing 12hrs. We got super lucky with this one. DD had her 3 month injections today! only cried for 2 minutes! think it was more traumatic for me!

DD was the same lexiloo then one week it all just changed and she sleeps right through! though she def lets you know she is hungry in the morning! lol

She laughed for the first time the other day! cutest thing ive ever seen!

Sam's longest sleep was 8 hours, and he did that once! It's now more like 5 hours and what ever after that... sucks for me - but know it will get better!

Sam is a side sleeper so likes to play on his side anyway - so can't see him taking too long to roll over. we shall see!

My 3rd baby was like this and she has always been a very placid likeable child, hardly ever cried unless hurt. She is 12 now and I think she is going to make up for it as a teenager as she can get quite weepy/hormonal, poor chicken.

George's longest sleep so far has been 7 1/2 hours and he has only done that twice, most nights his longest stretch is between 5-7 hours. And we get one very quick feed and straight back to sleep for 3 hours. but during the day his sleeps are between 1/2 -2 hours.

ATM he is very very hungry, he is 10 weeks on wednesday, so can't be the 12 week growth spurt but he looks like he is growing too, his face looks bigger everytime he wakes up and he is growing out of his clothes rapidly!

By the way, this may sound weird but I am loving Georges name. It is nice and easy to use. When I had my 4th baby (Juliette)I found her name hard to use and tended to call her "may baby" which was her nickname at the time. I think its just a normal thing firstbaby. She would have just discovered her hands. It could be the start of teething but maybe not.

A also hasnt started rolling. He isnt even trying. Thankfully!! I dont want a early mover. That means vacuuming more than i already do. No thank you!! lol

Aaron is the sweetest baby. He is also nice and relaxed, very smiling and just chills. My DD goes down about 7pm and sleeps until 1am but will eventually self settle after 10 minutes and go back down until 4am then has a feed and sleeps again till 7am then she is up for a few hours before she goes back down for a nap.

DD attempts to roll over gets onto her side but then fusses and goes back onto her back.. so nearly there i think!
Absolutely hates tummy time.. refuses to lift her head but im not worried as she has good head control.. just think she is not impressed when placed on her stomach.

She is a very relaxed baby.. never cries unless she is hungry, she happily lies in her cot talking to herself until we come in to get her. No screaming or anything.. Depends what you mean by sleeping through the night Bex. Our DD is doing anything from 7.5 to 9 hours between feeds overnight. But she does it from about 6.30-7.00pm until 3.30am ish so still not a full night's sleep for me. Still, getting up once around 3.30am is quite doable. Thanks MrsMJD, I heard about you guys through my friend who came on here to talk to people with her first baby. I never did antenatal classes with my daughter, think I was a bit young and scared and overwhelmed by everything, but really wish i had done them, so thought this would be a cool way of meeting new people with babies a similar age!
