Double spanish white is looking good. Very warm and working for us so phew as I was worried it might be a bit dark. Floor coverings are beige and neutral so I was fine as long as I went neutral. There is a huge range of neutrals with resene however that makes it a problem for me. The more choice the more uncertaintly. What sort of colour is the carpet/flooring kiwi2?

That would be the best place to start...for example if you have a carpet with a pinky colour to it something like Resene Soapstone in a half or quarter strength might work.

My other favourites with different bases are (Resene) Rice Cake, Thorndon Cream, Parchment, Pravda....

The whites & neutrals range is fantastic especially the fan deck (which you can look at in store) it includes 1/2, 1/4 & 1/8 strengths of some colours or double and triple strengths.

I love 1/2 tea and have that in my house. For the apartment I thought it might be a bit dark so I went with the spanish white. Did the coat of 1/2 spanish white today on the ceilings. I have decided ceilings are like labour and birth. It is bloody painful yet we forget and do it again. lol. luckily it is only 37 square metres.

Tomorrow will be the walls which I went with double spanish white (as per sandies recommendation) which looks quite dark in the tin but hopefully will be ok on the walls.

I got one of those wagner paint mates which means you don't need a tray. It sucks the paint in the handle and you pull a trigger and it goes out on the roller. Now I bought it when I lived in the states for $20 so not the $60 that it retails here for but it was fantastic. Especially in a small space where trays to trip over would have been a pain. The spare heads were $3 in the states and they are $23 here. So I washed it all out rather than throwing away the roller sleeve. The clean up was a bit of a PITA. However I think the overall experience was worth it in the end. We have used eighth malta at our place. Nice and neutral. Our rooms are quite small so needed something very light. My sister has a big house with larger rooms so could use slightly darker shades. They have used colours like half malta, half tea and half napper (sp?) in their rooms. All are really nice colours and seem to go with anything. we used Resene. cant remember the colours coz DPs parents are paying for the paint so they have my paint cards with the circles and room names written on them lol.

but we have used a slightly off white (very very light grey because we reckon plain white is too harsh) for the ceilings, skirting boards, windows and door frames. we have a blue for the walls, with a darker blue feature wall, plain dark blue curtains and all of our bedspreads go with it. (spare room will be just the plain light blue, DS's room is Dark blue with a mural wall, lounge room is going to be a light blue/grey/white colour)

('')   I think neutral colours we used a light grey then brightened the room with blue curtains and a nautical theme duvet cover looks great. I would also advise buying the cot/bed duvet cover first then matching up paint colours and stick with plainish curtains or duvet and curtains may clash.

Our last place was painted in Dulux Kinleith (Colour Map I think) and I loved it. Unfortunately it doesn't go with the tiles in our new place so we have painted Resene Eighth Tapa.

I actually bought the paint from Plymouth Paints and they couriered it to me. It was heaps cheaper, was delivered fast and we found it to be good paint. SIL has used it as well, I bought on her recommendation.
