If it's for a rest home I would think that some of the trad songs would be appropriate.

Away in a manger, Silent Night, Deck the Halls, We wish you a merry Christmas, The Holly and the Ivy, We three Kings, O little town of Bethlehem, Good King Wenceslas etc etc etc plus some more 'modern' ones thrown in.  Depends on how many you want and how much variety you need but actually I think you would find that in a rest home they are likely to appreciate a bit of a mix.

My son's class sang this last year at his prize giving
slightly inappropriate

to the tune of "jingle bells"

I heard a reindeer hoof, then Santa dressed in red,

Do you have to be PC and not have any christian songs. If you do then deck the halls and jingle bells are good also frosty the snowman and we wish you a merry christmas. What ages are the kids?

Back in the day, when I was in our school choir, we used to do songs like White Christmas (popular with the oldies), Silent Night, Away in a Manger, Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer ....
