Rachel - I wouldn't stress too much really. Angus only had 4 teeth from 9 months till 16 months, and we just got tooth number 10 yesterday, so in 2 months they have just popped! So im sure Chelsea's will to. Rach i stopped reading after you said you hadnt been to the dentist.

I dont know how it works down there but here Plunket give you a form early on (like at the 1st or 2nd appt) to get bubs enrolled at the local dentist and they like to see them before they are 1. Its just a chat about tooth care and really to put parents at ease as so many people have a fear of dentists that they dont want passed onto the kiddies.

I held jakes off until he was about 13 months as he didnt get his first teeth until he was 10 months.

I cut my 1st tooth at age 1 too just like Chelsea, and the second one soon after. But I didn't go 6 months without getting any more hehe. Daniel has been checked by a Paediatrician every six months (not related to teeth) and we asked him about teeth and when it was a problem if they were coming through. Daniel was around 13 months I think and he said he could see 'buds' so they would come and he said they will take there own time and wouldn't be concerned until they were a lot older (around 4 years!) with no sign of teeth. I would ask plunket or the dentist as well, but my guess is that they will probably all suddenly start popping through at once soon.

Caden had all his teeth by 20 months and is now cutting his 2 year old molars.

It sounds like your DD falls outside the typical range of teething, but IMO it is still 'normal' - my DD2 is a 'late' teether and only started a fortnight ago at 13.5 months but did 4 molars in one week, nothing since. I worried a little as any mum probably would, but in the end, what is there that can *actually* be done about it - probably not much! Lol Emmecat (for anyone wondering, my MIL suggested cutting DD's gums to help the teeth thru when she didn't have any haha)

Sabrina, that would be cool if you could ask your Plunket nurse for me we don't have Plunket till she's two so another 5months.
Her gums have always been bumpy, so not sure what I'm looking for with regards to teeth coming thru... And nope she hasn't had a dentist visit, are they meant to have one? I went to the dentist when she was about 1 (for me) and asked him when I should take her as she'd only just cut her 1st tooth, and she said not till she's 4

My DD has been a slow teether, she is coming up 22 months and still has to get her bottom eye teeth and the ones next to the bottom front teeth. Its only recently say around 16-19 months that she got the majority of her teeth. I have a relative thats a dentist and she said not to worry too much and so did the docs.

Its meant to be a good thing if they teeth late apparently the have healthier teeth.

Yeah I think by now I'd probably be asking a Dr or dentist Rach...could be a big fat nothing and it probably is, but they'll at least put your mind at rest

Clodagh has 12 teeth now at 16 months and now that the molars are through they others don't seem that far away .

DD is also 19 months and has been slow (and very random) with teething. She has more than yours but a few front bottom teeth haven't come through and her molars have.

Hi everyone. Just curious if anyone else's bubbas have been extra slow getting teeth. DD has only two teeth at 19 months. She got the first one at 1yr and the 2nd one at 13months, so hasn't had any more in 6 months! Is this normal? It's only just occured to me that it might be something to ask a doctor/dentist about because my friend just text me that her 8month old just cut her 3rd tooth...
