Bella has milk in her sippy cup AM and then water rest of the day and then milk in her cup at night. She has a snack, then lunch and then a snack, and if she doesnt eat it, tough.
Alot of her food gets thrown on the floor lol.
I also give her what I know she loves at every meal, like banana, raisons, along with the sammies or what ever shes having for dinner, that way I know shes eating something.
She refuses to be spoon fed, she spits it out, so I just dont go there, she feeds herself.

Edited by Sheza

She has breakfast first (solids) then a breastfeed, then sometimes some formula before her sleep at 10. Then around midday she has solids again and may have a little milk before her pm nap at 1.30ish. Then dinner at 5.30, breastfeed around 6.15 followed by bottle.

She loves the cup for water but if I put milk in it she just spits it out again.

If I give a little milk first she won't eat any solids at all.

She's been gradually getter harder at night too. Like now it is 2am and she's been crying for an hour. I've tried breast, bottle, co-sleeping, cuddles, new nappy, pamol but nothing works. She just yells. We thought it was a hunger thing but we seem to be having more and more nights when nothing will do. She'll have a small drink, settle for maybe 10 mins then get all worked up again so hve another small drink etc. The time awake each night is getting longer. She is happy as larry during the day. Had ears, throat etc checked again yesterday but they are all fine.

    Author: FionaS
Subject: 35734
Posted: 13 September 2010 at 9:28pm

Looks like I have a second picky eater in the house...ironic coming from parents who love food! Ashley started out great. I did BLW + some traditional spoon feeding and she was into everything, except potato. However, many, many colds later (she's had around 13) and we have a picky eater. She will play with anything but doesn't actually eat much of it. If I spoon feed her she spits everything out.

Since one particularly nasty flu virus, she's been having a bottle every night, sometimes having up to 300mLs of milk a night. We've tried to pull back on this but we just end up with a lot of screaming and not much sleeping.

I'm not sure how to move forward since she spits everything out?

She is having 2 breastfeeds a day plus 2 or 3 bottles. I wanted to move her to a cup by now but if she drinks from a cup she spits it out and thinks it is very funny.

To be honest I don't think she associates food with filling her tummy. I tested it recently. When she was really hungry I offered her solids and she only ate 3 tsp. I then got her out of her chair and offered her formula and she drained an entire bottle.
