Author: fire_engine
Subject: 35052
Posted: 03 August 2010 at 8:57am

Sounds lovely A wrap sounds good - you want it to be at least 1mx1m and single thickness would be fine. Like Kels said, you can just overlock the edges. If you want to get fancy, you can make an edging and sew it on (like they do on the ready-made blankets).

To do this, you need to:
a) cut edging for each side - 4 strips, each about 4-5 cm wide.
b) attach the edging to the main piece, right sides together
c) overlock/zigzag them together
d) fold the edging up and over. Using straight stitch, attach it on the back side to cover the zig zag stitch.

This explains it better (a slightly different way of doing it).
