It went off once when dd6y was a baby, rushed in and watched her for about 30secs, definitely wasn't breathing, so I grabbed her & as I lifted her she took a big gasp. Had nightmares for weeks about what would have happened if we didn't have the monitor, =(.

I still have it on now and DS is nearly 14mths. It did go off a few times when he was brand new but that was because he was breathing shallow and we didn't have the sensitivity set right.

If you can't afford to buy new Bubie buy one off Trademe they sell for about $150. You don't need the latest model, the cheaper ones still have the sensor pads. Sorry if this sounds patronising but just wondering from the way you have worded your first post, you do realise cot death is still a risk when they sleep in a bassinet don't you?

Edited by Mrs_B
