we had this same issue a few months ago wiht no centres having ANY space in welly. I contacted barnardos and got a place in a week that is less than a K from home and on the way to work - we live in newlands and there seemed to be more options out j'ville/newlands than in town for care. Have you thought about using a Nanny or 'In home care'? We had a nanny, for 2 days p/w, from when the girls were 8 months to recently and that worked out pretty well.

Thanks Tishy - we have moved to the other side of town, and it would take more than an hour each way to get accross to WCCCA and then to work...

I just put my girls at WCCCA on Adelaide Road. Slightly on the wrong side of CBD but I only rang about 3 months ago and they had spaces immediately.

sorry DJ don't know of any that are taking any unless you have prebooked on the waiting list 12 mths ahead of time (seems silly I know). Have you considered Porse or Barnardos.

I'm getting so frustrated with trying to get my kids into daycare in Wellington!

Does anyone know who you have to sleep with to get a place?

I'm enrolled in lots of places and I ring regularly to show my interest. I've visited some of the places.

What am I doing wrong?
What else can I do?
Anyone know of anywhere with spaces coming up?

Any place from Johnsonville to the CBD would be ideal.
