We had a neighbour take our foster son when I went into labour with Clodagh....dunno who's gonna do it this time with Clodagh with Mum and DF both hopefully in attendance again (cos neighbour has moved!).  I would ask at daycare too otherwise its always a good idea to have a babysitter (or two!) on the books anyway. Once you find a couple of nice people then you can let them both know when you're due and if they'd be ok minding your child at the pivotal time! Yip, I would talk to a daycare teacher! Would be the perfect solution as they can take your child to DC if need be or home.

Ask one of the daycare teachers!
Thats what a friend of mine did as she has no family here and declined my offer as I was very pregnant myself! It worked out really well for her- she went into labour early hrs of the morning, waiting til she was quite near to wanting to go to hospital, rang the teacher at 5 am, then went to hospital just before 7am- DD1 was still asleep, but had been given lots of warning that one of 2 of her teachers would be looking after her when Mummy went to have baby.

Where abouts do you live?

Have you thought about going to playgroups/coffee groups to meet some other mums.

You could ask one of the mums to do it?

I'm currently having a bit of a dilemma.I'm due with #2 in sept and am stressing about what to do with DS when I go into labour.
We have no family here in N.Z and dont really know many people here.The one friend I had lined up to look after DS is no longer able to do it.
I really want hubby to be with me so am thinking we'll have to get a babysitter/nanny.But I also dont want to leave DS with a complete stranger so would probably get said person to look after DS beforehand a few times.
