I did it a couple of years ago and found it really interesting.

There were two trials, one lasted a couple of days and one went for 2 weeks. I got chosen for the 2 week one. I met some really nice people and I quite enjoyed it even though the trial was a bit mundane (benefit fraud).

Didn't find there was too much waiting around. They were pretty quick with processing people.

I did it once. Can't say there was much waiting around though. They had the picking of the jury done within an hour and the trial started a little after that and lasted 4 days.

You'll have to decide if there are certain subjects you don't want to be a part of though. I did it years ago. I got picked and the trial lasted for a week. Was really boring, but did get paid for it and transport. And on the last night we got to have dinner at the Hyatt since we were still deciding on a verdict. Did they say how long on your letters it would be? monikah did you get paid for the time you were there? It says $31 for 1/2 day.

I am not bothered if not chosen for any & DH will just go back to work so no probs there.

lots of waiting around - definitely take a book. When i went there were about 70 of us there and they only needed two juries of 12 so the chances of getting picked weren't high.

I just received one & it is a few months away. The trial is expected to last 2 weeks.

At first I thought no way...kids, blah blah, but DH told me I should go & he will do the kids & house stuff.

He is going to talk to his boss next week so he can have leave for however long needed.

It may only be 1 day or could be longer depending on if they want me.

So has anyone done it?

I will bus in & it says to take a book to read....what do you need?
