Have a look on the holiday homes websites. There are some great places on them and some are really well priced.

We have used these two:
holidayhomes
and
holidayhouses

DH and I stayed at the Top 10 Holiday park in Takapuna/Northcote they have self-catering apartments and motel type rooms. It was handy to everything without being in the city centre. http://www.top1.co.nz/

The best option might be something like a serviced apartment, but most of those tend to be in the city. You could look at something like this - http://www.emerald-inn.co.nz/index.html in Takapuna. I guess its going to be hugely dependant on budget.

If budget isnt too much of a worry and the are happy to be in the city, then Heritage (the apartments) and Quay West are prob the better choices.

Does anyone know of some great family friendly accommodation in Auckland.

My sister is coming to NZ with her family of 5 and they are looking for somewhere to stay for a couple of days. They don't want to be in the city, but in a nice relaxed setting.

Any ideas?
