Is he having a good long feed when he wakes? I feed both sides, then offer the first side again to try to make sure our little'un has as much as he can hold (without spilling it back up )

You can always try solids and see if it helps, but as they recommend starting with a morning feed I'm not sure how this would help his sleeping for awhile.

Their little tummy's just aren't ready for human food at that age. Being a big baby doesnt mean that they are ready for solids. And also, solids at the beginning shouldnt be to fix hunger, but for experimenting etc instead. JM2C

I did stop and didn't start until she was 5mths but that was mainly because I didn't have the time to feed her solids as I was moving and trying to pack etc. At the time she wouldn't eat can/jar stuff and that was too expensive for me anyway.

Usually 4 or 5 times per night. I know formula top up's or soilds won't make a differencce to sleeping. BUT:

Plunket line suggested he may be ready for soilds, BUT he's only 4.5months this is too early i think.

What do you guys think?

didn't start with DS1til close to 6 months and he was't that interested then, loves food now though!
