I'm firmly in the "if you don't eat what's on offer you go without" camp.  The first time I did it Michaela was a toddler and DH said I was a big meanie and that I was starving our DD but she still slept 12 hours that night and ate a great breakfast the next morning. I still have issues with him offering snacks 'to fill her up' but luckily he's not around for dinner so it's not a big deal.

Yeah I should start doing that, dont eat, bed with nothing. He eats a big breakfast and lunch and snacks in between so its not like he is starving hungry.
For lunch today he had some hot chicken with mayo and he ate the lot! So it seems if I put mayo or sauce on chicken and maybe other meat, he will eat it.

Daniel eats what hes given or gets nothing. However, that is flexible if I'm trying something new.

Maybe hes just not into the texture of meat anymore. I'm a form believer that if they are hungry they will eat. Sometimes my DS will have hardly any dinner and other times he'll eat everything on his plate. I never offer him anything else if he doesn't eat. However, if he eats a lot, then I offer him some dessert. He still has his milk before bed, so I know he's getting something.

I didn't want a situation where I was making him a separate dinner because he didn't like what the rest of us are eating. I also didn't want to be one of those parents that make their child eat everything on their plate.

Caden refuses to eat dinner uless it's things like cheesy Ravioli or spagetti, sometimes baked beans, fish cakes, sweetcorn fritters, rice..etc
I cant get him to eat veges or meat, he turns his nose up at mince, even if I make it tasty and add pasta or rice, he just gets annoyed and tips his plate up side down or it all goes on the floor! I made him a nice tuna pasta bake because he usually eats tuna, but that went on the floor too *sigh*
So we have resorted to giving him toast and yoghurt etc so he doesnt go to bed hungry, but then i think if he was really hungry he would eat what we give him...and maybe I shouldnt give him anything if he wont eat his original dinner, but then id feel awful putting him to bed with no dinner
