The Single Urban Elite is about 11kgs. I don't find it very heavy at all. We also have a MB universal car seat clip for it which we have used HEAPS. Awesome for just transferring our capsule to wheels and I get to look at Jude that way. Thankyou StaceyL and Febgirl you've both given me good advice.  I was considering the mountain buggy anyway because Consumer Magazine tested quite a few 3 wheel strollers and the MBUE came out on top.  I think a 3 wheeler would suit me better because I don't really go to the shops very much and have two dogs which generally like to do the off road thing.

StaceyL - at a rough estimate how heavy would you say the MB is?

I can't really comment too much as I haven't had too much experience with a whole lot of different prams. We have a Mountain Buggy Urban Elite which is a three wheel pram. I love it. Very easy to manoeuvre. I've tried it on the beach and it is great when on the harder sand, on soft sand it was a bit harder - but I guess all prams would be hard to handle on soft sand? They are a bit bulky for town/malls etc I think but I still use ours in town. I think my Aunty had to get a smaller four wheeled pram only because a bigger three wheeled one wouldn't fit in her car. Mountain buggy's are a bit pricey new but we got our practically new one off TradeMe for less than half price.

I think that three wheeled prams would be better if you were going to do jogging/running/long walks as they usually have bigger wheels and the front wheel can be fixed so that it goes straight all the time.

Four wheeled prams are usually smaller so might be better if you do a lot of shopping?

Hi there, I'm going to be a first time mum soon and I'd like to know what the main differences/advantages are between 4 wheel and 3 wheel strollers as there are so many different brands on the market and I really have no idea where to start!

I'd like to find a buggy/stroller/pram???  that could handle footpaths and the beach possibly.  I'd particularly like to know whether I should look at 4 or 3 wheelers or if it really makes much difference  All advice much appreciated!
