    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=448">nikkitheknitter</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 2759<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 12 June 2006 at 2:25pm<br /><br />I think the trick is to look through cook books and start accumulating some of the ingredients that appear most often...<br /><br />Here is a good recipe for stir fry (which you can put any meat and veg you like)<br /><br />Add these ingredients to cubes or strips of beef/chicken/pork etc<br />1 T Dark Soy Sauce<br />1 clove of garlic, crushed,<br />2-3 cm of ginger, grated<br /><br />Set aside while you cut up vegetables (brocolli, spring onions, onions, mushrooms, capsicum, carrot etc)<br /><br />Heat 2 T of oil in pan and stirfry meat for 2-3 minutes<br />Remove and put aside<br /><br />Stirfry veg for 2-3 minutes (until just tender)<br />then mix:<br />1 t Cornflour<br />2 T Sherry or Rice Wine<br />1 T Soy Sauce<br />1 t Sesame oil<br />1/2 t Sugar<br />Add to vegetables and meat. Add 1-2 T of water if you want more sauce.<br /><br />Serve with rice.<br />]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=10154">fattartsrock</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 2759<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 08 June 2006 at 3:52pm<br /><br />ooh and easy pie.  <br /><br />cut up cubes of steak (about 600 gm) (can be casserole steak or good steak, i use rump if it's cheap) and toss around in a bag with flour to coat.<br />Cook off some onions intil clear, mushrooms if you like.  Remove from pan and brown off small amounts of the flour coated beef.  When all has been browned, retern all ingredients to pan and cover with remaining flour, 2 cups of beef stock and 2 table spoons of tomato puree (optional) Cook until beef is cooked.  I actually do this bit in a casserole dish.  I do enough so that I can use half for a casserole for us and the other half for a pie.  For the pie, make sure gravy is nice and thick, and the meat is cooled completely down.  grease a pie dish and line with pastry, fill with meat mixture, cover with pastry, score and brush with milk.  cook till goldem. Easy and yum and 2 meals.]]>

Don't like mushrooms?  leave out the mushrooms but still use the soup, you can't taste it i swear.]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=16257">1apple</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 2759<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 08 June 2006 at 3:04pm<br /><br />Hi Jezsika<br />A really quick and easy meal to make with beef strips:<br /><br />Beef & Broccoli<br /><br />Cut up some beef into thin strips (I use schnitzel but you can use any quick frying steak) and marinate for at least 15 mins in about 4 or 5 tablespoons of soy sauce, one clove of crushed garlic and ground pepper.<br /><br />While that is soaking away, slice one onion into strips lengthways, chop up a head of brocoli into bite-sized pieces, chop up one or two carrots into matchsticks, slice up a few mushrooms (about 7 or 8).<br /><br />Fry the beef in a little oil until cooked.  Should only take a few minutes.  Remove and keep warm.  Put more oil in the pan and cook the onions until soft, throw in all the veges and toss for a minute.  Then add 1 packet of Maggi Chicken Noodle Soup along with a cup of hot water and simmer away until the veges are cooked.  Add the beef and serve with rice.  Easy peasy!<br /><br />My mum always used to make this and now I do as it is so quick and easy.<br /><br />Good luck!<br /><br /><br />]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=976">daikini</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 2759<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 08 June 2006 at 3:03pm<br /><br />The World's Easiest Casserole:<br /><br />500g cubed meat (pork or beef)<br />1 small onion, sliced or diced (as prefered)<br />1 tin Tomato Soup (Watties Condensed works well)<br />1 large tin Pineapple Chunks in juice<br /><br />Cook the onion in oil until clear (about 2 minutes) then put into the bottom of a lidded casserole dish.<br />Put 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon pepper and 1/2 teaspoon paprika into a clean plastic bag.  Toss the meat in the seasoned flour, then brown in a little oil.  Place in the bottom of the casserole dish.<br />Pour over the tin of tomato soup and the tin of Pineapple and juice.  Mix everything together.<br /><br />Put the lid on, and cook for 1.5 hours (or until the meat is tender) at 180 degrees.<br />Serve with mashed potatoes and whatever other veges you feel like!<br /><span style="font-size:10px"><br /><br />Edited by becca.l</span>]]>
