I found it brilliant and will be using it again with this one. I also have 2 carseats that both convert but yeah will start with the capsule. I found even when we were living out of town and had to travel a ways it suited me best. By the time we'd gotten to our detination it was time for a feed anyway most often
Actually since your baby is due before mine you could just borrow our capsule and see what you think! If it works for you then by the time you don't need it it'll be time for us to have it back!
*Toddles off to PM you....*

We had a capsule for only one of our babies. In your situation I think you ought to decide whether to get one after baby is born, but living 45 mins out of towm I'd be inclined to give it a miss. Invest in a decent front pack/sling instead

Yes it is a right PITA when they are rear facing and tiny with those straps. But I don't think thats a silly idea to look at just having that.. there may be other brands out there that have a slightly different setup making it easier

    Author: T_Rex
Subject: 26957
Posted: 11 June 2009 at 3:46pm

DH and I are deciding whether or not to get a capsule or to go straight to a carseat. We live rurally, so by the time we've driven to town, baby will have been in the carseat for about 45 mins and its all but time to take him/her out anyway. So I'm not sure that we need a capsule for the convenience of being able to take baby in and out of the car without taking them out of the carseat.

We've had a look at some convertible carseats, and one things that struck me about them was the placement of the anchor straps when it is rear-facing. It did look like it would be quite a pain to get baby in and out of. And it looked impossible to get baby in and out of without waking them. Has anyone used one of these from newborn, and how did you find it? What brands would you recommend (or was it a silly idea?).

Any opinions much appreciated
