I use Curash powder, which has worked well on rashes, and now I use it most nappy changes as a preventative. It's also great if you use cloth nappies, because then you don't have to worry about cream residue buildup. sudocream here too, infact miss 3 has been licking her bottom lip and chin so much there was a dribble rash on it, so put some sudocream on it last night and this morning it was gone.

Sudocreme here. Had a few cases where its looking a bit red, put some on and next day its gone.

When Mika was 2 weeks old, she had a slight nappy rash. Then the mum of an old friend of mine visited and saw that. The next day she was back with a jar of sudocrem and told me to put it on after every change. I have to admit I only put it on once or twice a day, but Mika hasn't had a rash since. So my guess is it's working.

(The woman who put me onto the sudocrem babysits her granddaughter one day a week and was instructed by her daughter and son in law, who's a gp, to put the sudocrem on.)

Hello,

I was wondering what product(s) are best for a baby's bottom?

Our parents used 'Sudocrem' all the time, but there are now so many new products around, what is best for a babies bottom?

Do you put something on their bottoms every nappy change...is prevention better than cure?

What combination of products should we use, and how frequently? Does this change with age (i.e. what is best for a newborn, and what is best for a year old?)
