I know it's a bit like that, when do you ring the midwife? I know it's their job but how long do you wait. My sister in law is due in july and hadn't felt bubs move for 3 days, they were going to the hospital and bubs moved. Fiona - I totally agree with your comment and think it all comes down to bubs is growing and needs time to rest as well as time to play and we as the mummies to be worry about that and like to feel movement as we can't yet hold our bubs. Maybe also it means that bubs that rest will be good sleepers when they are out of mummies tummies... food for thought. what do people think? well that's what i've been told :-)

Hey :) My little miss did this to me a week or so ago. I hardly felt anything other than hiccups for several days. By the time I thought about going to see someone about i she picked up the pace again and hasn't stopped since. I think they have quiet patches, maybe due to growth or something. Call anyway...our neighbour didn't call when she hadn't noticed baby move for a while and the outcome was not good....don't want to freak you out but would rather you were freaking and nothing was wrong vs the other.

I think we all worry about being a nuisance at some point

Sheena posted a very similar thread a few weeks back and i think it was just put down to baby being a bit tired and worn out as well from mum being sick.

Thanks guys, of course murphys law he has moved a bit more since I posted , so I feel a bit more confident, however is it worth me calling just to be on the safe side ?

Yep, go and get that boy monitored, it's a sure fire way to get a lazy baby moving. I'd call your MW. Ben's movements slowed down the 2 weeks leading up to his birth and my placenta was half dead when I had him , so not something you want to muck around with. so , if we are worried about babies movements, eg they have slowed right down , do we call the mw first or go straight to the hospital ?

Ive been unwell in bed the past couple of days which hasn't helped me being aware of anyone but my poor sick self, but around 1:30ish , It suddenly occurred to me that I haven't felt my usually active baby much at all today , this afternoon (once I realised this ) I had some water , lay down and he moved twice, I then had a bath cos that gets him going usually , and he moved once , so yes, at least hes moving , but thats 3 times today , that I can recall feeling anyway , and usually he would have moved well over 10 times .
Could my being sick have something to do with it ?
