Actually went really well.  Didnt feel like I was going to die at all.<br />I think if I tried to do the same thing tonight I may die half way around though.<br /><br />I drove the waterfront where I live last night to check the distance.  From my house to the end of the waterfront and back is exactly 5km.  So I will know I have made it when I can run from home and back.]]>

I used to be able to run, but then I got lazy and stopped. I can normally walk for miles, although it was not so good for a while after the birth. My hip joints were pretty wrecked, so I didn't do much exercise. I'm super unfit now so I must do this. I'll have to run with the pram but it's a super heavy, chunky one, so we'll see how that goes!]]>

Planned to jog/walk for 20 mins but managed only 10. I do not enjoy running but this was so great and I didn't miss a run for 6 weeks and I felt so fantastic after running.  The weight dropped off of me.  I got sick with Campylobactor 6 weeks in.  Went for a run and just didn't have it in me that day, dragged myself home was ill, for two weeks, tried running the next week, still felt weak, so didn't get very far.  The following week, I woke up with a sore hip that got so bad, I couldn't walk for a week (running and hip injury NOT related), has left me in physio ever since.  So all my hard work, down the toilet.  <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley19.gif" border="0"> Funny, though, I've really been feeling a "pull" towards getting back into running.  My hip is better and I've been given the go ahead.  So maybe I'll start tomorrow.  <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif" border="0"> ]]>

Actually, I've found the transitions between weeks pretty good. It's not a lot more running and I think you get a good bit fitter even in those first three runs. <br /><br />I'm on week eight now - first run tomorrow, I shoudl actually listen to the first bit so I can psyc myself up for whatever it is I have to do. I have to admit that I found the 25min runs in week seven hard... I hope it doesn't step up tooo much this week!]]>

My fitness level increased so much when I did it. I even made sure to buy myself a new pair of running shoes when I found out I was pregnant, because I knew I wouldn't be able to afford a new pair for quite sometime!<br /><br />I really need to shift the last 15kg of baby weight off my body (I ended up gaining 30kg in total). I really want to be back to the size8/10 I was pre-pregnancy, but I have been making good progress on losing weight sensibly.]]>

Still, first half was good. Will head out in the weekend with DH to push the child.  My goal is to do 20-30 minutes in 3 weeks, which should be doable. I just have to KEEP AT IT which is hard cos my motivation isn't that great! <br /><br />How's everyone else???]]>

I didn't feel good going into it so just did a short run - more like week 3. I decided it was better to go and do something than to not do anything.  My hamstrings are really tight and I think that's one factor in why it's hard (that and a mental plateau) so I will do lots of stretching over the next wee while. Might head out tomorrow with DH for motivation.]]>

As she has been sick i have been either at home with her, or as i work and have to travel i have been away. Last week i was in Napier and didn't run because i didn't know where to go, but i did got the local gym and do an aerobics class.<br /><br />One of my gym instructors has told me he is going to do me a new cardio program to up my fitness some more - i think he is living his martial arts dreams through me - so that should help with the running too. ]]>

I had the  regional Tae Kwon Do championships last sunday and i think the running really helped with my fitness for my fight... so it is worth doing them.<br /><br />Flissty how are your shin splints?? I have never had them but i heard that they hurt like anything.<br /><br />Well done Monikah - i really liked week 2 and getting into more time running.]]>

Yesterday DH told me my trousers were starting to look a bit baggy - when I bought them 3 weeks ago he told me they were a bit tight in the thighs.  So maybe the running/walking is paying off!<br /><br />I reckon there is a mental game that happens when you change your route - the first few times you do the new route it seems so much harder (even if it's the same distance/walk/run pattern).  I've spotted a new one that's reasonably flat - up Ash St, round someof the back streets to Lynn Mall and home so I might try that later in the week.  I'm planning to have a go at my shorter route this avo since DH will be home - means I don't have to go out pushing 20kg of baby and buggy.]]>

And they come near the start of the run so tend to knacker me out.  I just need to harden up!  I think this week is probably going to be my hell week that I just need to get through.<br /><br />Not going out today - all blocked up and snotty and think it would not be wise.  Will go tomorrow or Wednesday and week 3 will definitely be 2 weeks.<br /><br />25 minutes straight is fantastic!  YOu give me hope that I'll get there.  I'm not sure I'll get to 5K - my "block" (the larger one) is about 4K so I think if I can do that, I'll be happy. ]]>

I've restarted and am day 3 week 3 and it's killing me!  I did a new route yesterday and really struggled so am thinking I might make week 3 a 4 day week.  I'm not sure about going out in the nasty weather tomorrow with a cold, but also know that if I don't go, I'll find it easy to give up. And given that this is the third time this year I've done week 3, I would really like to just keep going!  ]]>

Have had a week off but am feeling better so going to do a couple of the week 2 runs again and then hopefully do week 3 next week if my knees are ok.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Very annoying as I was loving it.
