Took 2 Dr's to give me a correct diagnosis which was post partum hives. It did not start till 5 weeks after my baby was born and has lasted a week so far, I also had an epidural so not sure if that contributed. A topical cream has helped the itch and now I am on an antihistamine too. Hope it doesnt last forever!

I had the gas, antibiotics and syntocin, nothing else. Apart from now chowing down on man-sized meals, the food's still the same. Maybe hives are just one of those things that are sometimes completely random? Sounds like it here anyway. The Phenergan I was prescribed for them has kept them at down for the last 2 nights, but I'll try one more night of dozy night feeds before I kick that and see if it's done the trick already. Ah, all very weird.

They went away after a few days by themselves and haven't had it again - random!

Could it be related to something to do with childbirth like epidural, antibiotics, pain killers? Maybe it's just a hormonal reaction? Hope it goes away soon for you.

I got hives everywhere it was unbearable. In the end I had to change to all natural and organic products for my skin and even then some things still gave me hives. It was like my chemical make up had changed. It went away when I got pregnant with Isobelle and I have been fine this time round.

This is additional to the eczema that had me itching through the whole pg cranking it up and getting worse too. The hives are so bad that on the first night, my tummy and back looked like a map of the world, 'cause a lot of them join together. The Doc's prescribed a steroid cream and antihistamine, and I'll get a skin prick test done when I get to the lab. But how weird is that? The only change in my diet has been going from low-dairy to dairy-free. No new lotions or detergents, environmental anythings or foods. Has anyone else had this happen?
