I never even thought to wear a belly band under a baggier top so that I can lift up from the bottom but not show off my tummy.

I haven't BF in public public yet - just in nursing rooms or at Baby Cafe - but with big (.)(.) I can't imagine being able to without feeling super exposed? Any suggestions for good tops for us well-endowed ladies? I have 2 tops from mummymatters and one from newlife maternity. I also use the nurture slinglets (farmers) at night time. I have a Hot Milk singlet/camisole which is lovely but made to be sexy I think cause my boobs seem to fall out the middle if im sleeping on my side, haha. But more often than not I tend to wear 2 layers - a stretchy singlet (which I pull down from the top for access) worn underneath another top. That way my belly is covered when I feed. Or i also use a belly band if its not practical to wear a singlet underneath. I bought one top, and lived - especially nights in my Nuture singlets - I have 2 of them plus one other. I my nurture singlets. I did buy some pretty BF bras, but hardly wear them . I mostly stick with t-shirts one size bigger (so that they can lift up). To be honest I don't have any BFing tops - I just went out after I had Bethany and bought some tops I liked that fitted slightly looser around my tummy so they'd be easy to lift without showing my skin to the world.

Another thing that worked was putting a belly band on underneath them - so that no one saw any skin at all. Slightly cooler than putting a whole singlet top or second layer on in this weather!

I've bought some from www.mummymatters.co.nz and so far they seem to be working out fine and they weren't that expensive as I bought mostly those on sale and got family to buy me some for my b-day . Says they can go in the dryer on low but I haven't actually put any of them in the dryer so can't really tell you if they keep their shape or not.

I have 2 of the Kmart ones mentioned earlier, and I have worn them in already, so comfy and easy to use (I tested them out as soon as I bought them lol!) the shelf bra has two slits down the side to allow easy access, but they dont gape wide open, the material kind of overlaps over the nipple area... the snaps are easy to undo/ do up, but dont come off on their own, I can do it onehanded

I didnt buy anything for BFing DS, which was prob just as well, considering we never made it past 6 weeks, not for lack of trying, but this time I am determined to get it 'right' and these singlets are awesome! the black one I can wear on its own, the white one not so much as its kind of see through in that you can clearly see the slits in the shelf bra fabric lol.

I got a couple of bf singlet tops off Trade Me and they were good when I went out, I just put a normal top on over it. They were great so that noone saw my jelly belly! Round home I just wore a bf bra and normal top

I got some nursing tops from uplusbaby and they were fantastic. I really liked them because they were super comfy and casual so good to wear with just a pair of jeans or trackies, but still nice enough to wear out if you wanted to. I originally bought one from Baby Factory, but after using it all the time decided I wanted another one or two so looked up their website and bought some more. Here's the link:

I have seen BF singlets in Kmart and they often have sales on their maternity range, though never have any in stock when I go shopping.

I don't have any maternity or nursing clothing, just bras with the snaps that I wear with normal singlets or v-necks.

Like Jo, I've found plain bf singlets underneath normal tops (or just by themselves) to be indispensible - I have 4 (two black, one white, one blue) and I live in them. I just got mine (Nurture brand) from Farmers in the maternity lingerie section (wait for the sales or use the discount voucher in the Bounty book). The Warehouse have Bonds ones but they're actually more expensive than the Farmers ones. (Something like $30 as opposed to $25 - I think!)

I noticed on the Womama website they have quite a bit for BF mothers...I have a skirt and whilst it was around the $80 mark, it is fantastic quality!

I use the Bonds Bump singlets, comfy as for around home, had mine 6months and its still in fair condition, not too expensive about $30, and with mine being white it looks nice under a button up shirt if I'm going out, or under my lacy crochet hippy top. Even cheaper were my "pyjama" BF singlets, I got them from the warehouse on sale for about $7.50 each - Class women. I havn't bought any of the fancy expensive breastfeeding tops as I wasn't sure how long I'd be able to do it for (I swore I was going to give up "tomorrow" everyday from 3weeks through to about 8weeks). my mum found me some excellent tops on trademe.
they're singlets that have a shelf bra with snap type stud along the front so you can undo it and lift it up.

I didnt actually buy any bf tops.

When I went out I tended to wear desses or tops that had a v or as it was summer I had loads of dresses with a boob tube type top with spaghetti straps .. and I could just pop out a boobie (or singlets allow excellent access to a milk machine

Is you are in Auckland, Baby Cino in Newmarket or Baby Global on Manakau road have a good selection (not the cheapest around but good quality).

I did get one from Egg but wasn't too fussed on the quality for what I paid for it. Not to mention everything seems to stick to it. The pants I bought from them are the same. They were pilled on the thighs (my thighs aren't THAT big) within three wears. I'm after something comfy, casual but not too sloppy, can go in the dryer and is reasonably priced. Don't want anything too fancy.
