    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=20230">Spirals</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 23344<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 30 January 2009 at 8:33am<br /><br />OK - finally happy with base/capsule system.<br /><br />We took all the advice - pulled it really tight, DH put all his weight on it, used towels underneath, made sure the ratchet-style-seatbelt clicked back in, used a safety clip on the seatbelt and took it to Plunket to check last night. <br /><br />Plunket say it's tighter than some of the ones they hire out and it's definately very safe, so DH is finally happy...yay! <img border="0" src="https://www.ohbaby.co.nz/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif" border="0"> ]]>

Even then it may seem to move a bit, but it won't, trust me. DH yanked ours about and no way could the carseat release, tip over or anything in the event of a crash. She said that even if no one hired from her she would be happy to sort their capsule/base/babyseat for them for free anyway (cos they might be potential customers down the track I imagine).  Perhaps ring around and ask these people in your area to give it a go?]]>

We went back to the shop to ask them how to do it - the came out to the car - but they couldn't get it to sit totally securely either. <br /><br />We're now going to go to Plunket and see what they can do - if that doesn't stump up a solution the base is going back.<br /><br />Gutted - I really wanted the base system. So much easier. But at the end of the day, safety is the number one priority. ]]>

We just used towels on the seat (underneath the base) to prop it up and help it stay secure.  The capsule has a level thing on the side to help you check that it's at the right angle.  It also helps to kneel on the base so you can pull the seatbelt really tight.  <br /><br />Hope that makes some sense, it's a bit late...]]>

The instruction manual said it was fine to use towels to prop up the base if that happens, which is what we did and it made it more secure. Does yours have an angle meter on it? Ours did, so then we knew whether the base and capsule were fitted at the correct angle, using the towels. Otherwise, perhaps go back to the shop you bought it from - they are usually pretty happy to help...]]>

Ie you seat belt the base in rather than seat belting the capsule each time.<br /><br />We have brought one and it doesn't seem that secure.  I wonder if we are doing something wrong.  It seems it would fit better if we were to put something underneath the rear of it to raise it but I am concerned that this isn't how it is made to be used.<br /><br />Any suggestions would be great.  <br /><br />I am trying to fit it into a daihatsu lanos.]]>
