I had a satchel with first baby and ended up buying another backpack (not as cool as the one I am currently using, there is a 6yr age gap) so I could be hands free and have a bit more room for things, also if you are planning on leaving baby with someone ie childcare then the Milano back pack is your bag!
I really could not recommend a bag more :)

Can fit heaps in and when we are out without the buggy it means both of my hands are free (which comes in useful chasing after a running toddler). Clips onto the buggy as well, which was my major concern when DH brought it for me. DH has no problems wearing it when he is out with Ella, but he would never use a satchel. Also figured because it has heaps of space, we would still be able to use it when we have a second child.

I find my Gummy satchel fabulous - before then I had one of the older style Kapoochi satchels and while it had tons of pockets and heaps of space, it was heavy, which became a real pain in the butt. So definantly check out in the store how lightweight (or not) the bag is as you're considering it.

I have the mini back pack at the moment and you can remove the change mat on that but I have never bothered to use it up on any of the change tables in public loos etc. never even thought about it.

I have never used mine as a satchel, I picked the back pack type as I wanted to wear him in the front pack and I found it easier to have baby on the front in the front pack and nappies on the back in the back pack, helped keep me upright....lol Is handy to have the backpack now as well, I have to carry him a lot, for example to go into a cafe where i'm gonna put him in a highchair or into someones house, anywhere where i'm not using the pram basically and then I find it easier on me to sling the bag on my back and have both arms free to pick him up.

Hope that helps a little, and will try to remember to post again once my classic bag arrives.

Just a couple of questions for those that already have one.

Classic Back Pack - does the change mat come off? I would have thought you would need to use it when chaning baby in the toilets and if it doesn't come off I assume you can't use it on one of those change tables in the toilets.

Milan Bag - does it have a thermal insulated bottle pocket like the classic one?

What is better out of a back pack or a satchel? They seem to either convert to a satchel (if they are a back pack) or a back pack (if they are a satchel) so they seem the same to me.

Thanks
