Do it fully reclined - it's totally fine for her to pick her head up and look around. just a tip about the cord that tightens the straps.. always tuck it down between the car seat and the back seat...

the straps have been known to go flying in a crash or if you stop suddenly... i know of one child who has no sight in one eye because of this...

Glad she likes it! Agreed, it needs to be fully reclined.

My little guy likes to try to sit up in his too, but lies back when I tighten the harness. Have just been given a friends royale (safe n sound) carseat, as our girl is getting too big for her capsule.

From reading the instructions it says to have it leaning all the way back for baby mode, but this seems a long way back and she's already trying to lift her head to see out the window. Would it be safe to have it only half reclined in the rear-facing position? She's 5 mths/7kg so she still needs to be rear-facing.

I'm not sure if anyone will understand this, but hopefully!
