Bedpost have great service here - we got ours there, paid extra but it was sooo worth it, as after a month of that bed just not working out for my back, we were able to exchange it and just pay the difference on the new one. Anywhere else would have said 'tough luck'. But then, what are the chances of a bed not working out for a little toddler - slim to none, I guess, considering how little they weigh. Have you thought about looking on TM and in 2nd-hand shops for old wooden slat beds, and buying a new mattress?

Have you tried Bed Post in the shopping centre where Warehouse Stationery is? Or Bed Barn on Grey St, I thought they made them.

Where can I look for a single wooden slat bed?

We want a wooden one because I had a steal one when I moved outta home and it creaked all the time and we have a wooden queen bed and it never has that issue.. so thought that would be good for Daniel but a single size but I'm having soooo much trouble finding one that won't cost a fortune..

We want a slat bed cause Daniel needs a headboard because his head will be against the window rather than a wall (its the only way a bed will fit in the room) and because his room is small having space under the bed will be very good for storage.

I've tried:
Big Save - they had lots of steal options but no wooden
Smith City - the only wooden option was over $1000 without matress and I am not paying that kind of money
Freedom - again most are steal frames and the wooden one I saw was expensive as hell
Warehouse - didn't look very sturdy, like it would break real easy
Harvey Norman

I'm going to have a look in farmers when I'm next shopping in the area but where else?
