I was thinking that the lack of harnesses in the Mee Too chair would make it not very safe for a baby. I do like the look of the anywhere chair. Quite expensive though.

I was always on edge and depending on the thickness of the table you can't use it everywhere.

I have a thing similar to the anywhere chair and love it. Great, simple and easy. Lots of the restuarants in ChCh have them just as their highchairs and have had no issues.

I have another sort of portable highchair that I got from Babycity and its great too, although a little bulkier but it depends what you want it for. Mine is plastic seat and has a tray that you can attach or detach and clips round the chair like the anywhere chair. I use it as our everyday highchair and take to friends with us and am taking it to Bali with us.

    Author: arohanui
Subject: 21060
Posted: 19 September 2008 at 3:32pm

I used the Phil & Teds one at coffee group a couple of weeks ago. It was attached to a table that seemed quite sturdy, but when Harry wriggled and kicked and flung himself about, it actually moved the table and I was scared it was going to flip over. I just kept my foot on the bar across the bottom of the table the whole time and it was fine, but I didn't feel comfortable leaving him in there while I went to wet the cloth to clean him up. So I think they're great if the table is really big and heavy, otherwise can be a bit scary!

The Anywhere Chair, the family I used to nanny for had one. I didn't see it used with younger babies, but once the kids were toddlers they used to sit on it (without the strap around them), just to make them a bit higher at the table. So it was used for a lot longer than a normal travel highchair would be.

If we decide to get a portable highchair, it will probably be the anywhere chair one

We've used it for visiting toddlers and it's great. Folds up small enough for the nappy bag, nice and light, yet very sturdy and safe.

ETA: rather than shelling out for it, you can get them with fly buys points...

Edited by weegee
