I'v been using health basic body wash with Vitamin E and Aloe Vera. Not only does it smell nice but it makes your skin feel nice and soft. I have then just used a moisturiser that has Vitamin E afterwards and its seems to do the trick. Sice I'v been using the body wash and moisturiser I'v had no itching.

I got a bottle from New World, but I don't use it everyday as I find it a little congesting on my skin. I wouldn't go near Bio Oil if I was you, it is as artificial as you can get, and has caused a lot of bad allergic reactions on people.

Living Nature do a great massage oil for pregnancy to help with stretch marks. It is about $30 for a bottle, and lasts for a really long time. I am using the Cocoa Butter lotion.

I fully mositurise every day, I dont use a lot of it and since I have been pregnant this is my second bottle.

Lately everywhere I turn I get told that almond oil is great. Apparently it is really good for baby as a massage oil, and from what I can gather it is meant to be good for stretch marks too. The bottom line is that they say that if you're going to get stretch marks, you'll get them regardless of what you put on your skin. But we can only try huh?!

Oh - and apparently you can buy pure almond oil, healtheries brand (so it'll be with all the vitamins and etc.), at Foodtown or other supermarkets for about $9 a bottle. Just my opinion but I would be steering clear of BioOil, - here is the blurb that really put me off....from a PHD qualified chemist....

The main ingredient - mineral oil - is not a natural oil, it is a petro-chemical derivative.
Citronellol, geraniol, hydroxyisohexyl 3cyclohexene, linalool, carboxaldehyde and limonene are all reportable allergens in the EU and are skin, eye and respiratory irritants.
The first aid measures for cetearyl ethylhexanoate include washing skin with soap and water in case of contact, removing and washing any contaminated clothing.
Amyl cinnamaldehyde (amyl cinnamal) is also a eye, skin and respiratory sytem irritant and may cause sensitisation. Eugenol is similar, and is marked as a harmful substance.

Surprisingly, I found Bio-Oil sooo effective. It's expensive to buy, but if you look for deals on TradeMe or Ferrit, it's not too bad.

I found I didn't need to use anywhere near as much compared to other creams and it was really nice feeling on. I only used 2/3 of a 200ml bottle over the pregnancy.... which I think I paid about $40 for.

I haven't started trying anything yet - but I have a large bottle of bio-oil left over from something else that I'll probably use up.

My friend the other day was telling me she used olive oil. Her midwife advised it, and she blew up like a balloon in both her pregnancies and doesn't have a single stretch mark. Hi _ i'm currently going thru a tonne of "Palmers Coca Butter for stretch marks' in the hopes of avoiding them. It may or may not work, i think its in the genes, but it cant hurt.

But it is very expensive stuff. Does anyone have been home made or cheaper options? Ive thought about olive oil or even vasoline (ugh - slimey tummy).
