I recommend Estee Lauder, Clinique, Bobbi Brown, Mac, Origins...I use to work for Estee Lauder at the head office so use to get everything for free - you should of seen how much I had to pack to send to Saudi - it will last me for a couple of years!

i should add to that,any good moisturisers for oily/dry skin that lasts a decent amount of time would be greatly advised.

Your probably wondering how i get oily AND dry skin???i have patches of dry skin in the bridge of my nose and by my nostrils but also have oily patches to.i tried the Nivea range but that made my face look really oily and yuk.

 Natural Glow lmao.only got it for the 1000's of luminous spheres lmfao.nah, i got it fo rthe leg tanning honestly lol.I had shiseido moisture mist back in my clubbing days but seriously that was the last time i bought or used foundation(actually make that all make-up).

Anyone know of a good light foundation which is ok to use on oily/dry skin??i am a pastey so nothing orange lol.

Oh,bodyshop used to sell this awesome cover up stick and am gutted they stopped stocking it.

As for eyeshadows and eyeliners hehe I SUK at applying them hehe.I used to get my lashes tinted which was my splurge as far as beautifying meself up.I wanna try the new mascaras with the white and black.anyone tried and liked???id like to start wearing make uop again as i am starting to feel and look like a bedraggeld mummy hehe

I use skinlights as well... not that into wearing foundation so it's nice wearing something light.

Wanted to say that if you want to buy good brands but can't afford to pay full price... try them at the counters then go to www.strawberrynet.com and get them waaaaaaay cheaper. I like the skinlights stuff by revlon too. I find it really easy to put on and because it is so light you don't have to worry about the jawline or anything. i have only ever used the shisedo moisture mist, and i would call myself a total novice when it comes to makeup etc... i need something really easy to apply and doesnt really make much difference to my face! is the liguidy foundations easy to use?? i dont seem to want to try that kind.... oh and what is good for hiding wrinlkes (ie: not showing those creases around eyes??)

I'm not a makeup fan in general, but I do love Covergirl Wonderlash mascara (green and pink tube), Body Shop bronzing balls, Elizabeth Arden mousse foundation (soooo light, and blends amazingly) and Lancome juicy tubes lip gloss. OKay, I have lotsof avon stuff, which is why I started selling it really. I love the moistruiser and cleanser, lipsticks and stuff, but only when it's on sale!
My other favs are
clinique - everything!! mascara, foundation, lipsticks, gloss, eyshadow
Dior eyeshadow and mascara is fabulous
Chanel foundation is beautifuol!!!
Gueralin (sp....could chek the spelling but it's in the abthroom) - lipsticks have little mirros on the base. worth the price for that alone
baby lotion - any brand is FABULOUS as eye makeup remover. you can use it as cleanser too, but I find it too oily on my face

I use a Cover Girl one, Tru Blend. It's similar to the L'Oreal Cashmere Perfect but mcuh cheaper and blends really really well.
I have a great L'Oreal mascara that Willie gave me (one of his mates is married to a lady who works in marketing for them), but I forget what it's called.

I also use teh L'Oreal skin care stuff, cleanser and toner, but not nearly as often as I should. And because I work from home I don't bother with makeup too often.

I agree with the Estee Lauder Foundation recommendation. It is so lovely and natural to wear and stays on all day however it is super expensive. I used to buy it when I was working however I am at the moment using Natio but wouldn't rave about it.

I must say mascara from Estee Lauder is also the best i have used. I have used Clinique also and it is good too and a little cheaper also. (not much though)

If you have the money to spend on make up I would recommend going and trying them on and then going outside the store to check it. The girls at the counter work on commision so they will want to sell sell sell - but they do also know what they are doing generally. The good brands should give you samples to take home so do ask for them.

I am an Estee Lauder foundation girl too, I have used it since I was about 16. It is fabulous. You don't even feel like you are wearing make-up! And I often have people comment how natural it looks and as though I am not wearing make-up which is the whole point right!!!? im the same as you janine (mum2 paris) i have rally sensitive skin as far as allergies is concerned, although in general my skin is olivey, and in pretty good nick (so am happy with it except that i have to watch what i sue!) am starting to get some crows feet from being a happy smiley young girl, and would like to have a few less for only 24!

ok so i am kinda guilty of the same sarahbeth - i still use my clean and clear moisturiser, he he.
I use st ives facial scrub, body scrub and body moisturisers. foundation i use maybelline powder and their liquid one as well.

Oh man, i got suckered into buying a Estee lauder foundation when I was wearing makeup, it was hideous expensive, but I had won vouchers at work. Turned out to be the best, lightest, nicest cover foundation I have ever used. Cost $75, though. Before I committed, the girls at the pharmacy gave me HEAPS of trial sizes to try out. I have found value for money and it doesnt leave your skin feeling poos is Colors of Australis i get a bottle of foundation for $17.95 from farmers. Its excellent! I have tried many foundations from doing a makeup artistry course. makeup ! one of my favourite things in the world-im terrible, i buy new foundation all the time ....EVEN WHEN MY OTHER ONES ARENT EMPTY _gasp.

I have this obsession with trying out new textures and types etc....becoz of this addiction i have tried:(ahem)
Maybelline-best one of those is the mousse foundation,great coverage-tho if u have dry skin it shows up dryness
Revlon-best one is new complexion,not very heavy and worse (in my opinion) is the 16hour long lasting-so sticky and heavy
I have also tried body shop-v nice,chanel,clarins NO7 boots shiseido-their beauty cake one used to be really good but the texture has changed and isnt as good now, napolean foundations are also very good

At the moment i have -revlon compact, tinted moisturiser,napolean stick, and a natio stick one oh and a clinique one-there very good too

I WANT a bobby brown foundation-my (current) favourite

Hmmm.. can't say I use much of it at all except for lipgloss and occasionally mascara ! It has to be a *really* special occasion - I think the last time I really dolled up was for my wedding.

I do quite like what you can get from Napoleon Perdis, available at Farmers, I have an eye pencil from them that I love as it goes on really smoothly and I don't have to stab myself in the eyelid to get it to work. I also had a foundation stick from Red Earth that was really good until clever me went and lost it, but I'm not sure if the Red Earth shops are still around ... ?

Other than that, when I have saved up some serious $$ I will splash out on DuWop - a brand from New York, available I think only at a shop in Newmarket called Glamourpuss. Their stuff is AMAZING. I have found something to suit me every time, and they have some other good brands as well but DuWop is my favorite. I am especially addicted to their Venom lipgloss - has cinnamon and other neat things in it and actually makes your lips tingle after you've put it on (and you don't need much of it so I don't go through it that fast either)... even the plain stuff gives your lips a bit of color because it stimulates blood circulation.

I realise of course though, that what suits me might not suit you, so best of luck in finding stuff that "fits" !

So, I am a bit of a novice when it comes to this (shameful I know given I am of the female gender), and I still use the brands I did when I was a kid, and am wondering if perhaps I should upgrade. So do any of you lovely ladies have a reccomondation for reasonably priced makeup that is good? Foundation and moistroiser especially
