I know you can book random scans at royston and that place in greenmeadows(I can't remember the name) but I think a friend said it cost $180ish and without a referal they sometimes make you wait a bit longer for an appointment.

My midwife who works through the hospital gave me referals for my 12week and 20weeks scan and they were only for royston or greenmeadows, she never mentioned getting them done through the hospital.

I don't think they can do 3d scans here, I doubt the hospital could afford the equipment! Maybe Palmy would have them but they cost a foutune.

I'd also like to know how you get on because if I can't see the sex at our 20week scan I want to get another one done.

I'm glad to see there are other mums to be from Hawkes Bay on here, I thought I was the only one. Where are you planning to have your baby? I had Miya in Napier and really liked the placed but now we have moved to Hastings it seems silly to drive all the way to Napier when I live within walking distance to the hospital. Is the birthing unit at the hospital very nice?

i think all the equipment in HB is out of date i got mine done in napier at HB radiology and as far as i know there is no where that does 3d scans here.

i tried to get another scan form from my midwife due to wanting to confirm that its a girl cause we didnt get a proper look though the radiographer obviously knows what shes looking at.

my midwife would not give me another form due to there being no medical reason behind wanting/needing another one, though she did say that i could get one but it would cost over $150 without her form.
