I got furious at the camp and I'm going to write a letter of complaint!  Coke zero and diet drinks have aspartame in them which is so damaging to the growing brains of children, even damaging to adults.  <br />I think some campaigners are trying to get the government to put warnings put on all food and drinks containing aspartame that it is damaging to health just like they do on cigarette packs!<br />]]>

And yep, store bought mayo is fine as it is heat treated/pasteurised even if it does contain egg. The exception is those ones you can get in pouches like the Kato sauces coz they are fresh.]]>

The problem with the deli salads is that they are not well chilled.<br /><br />As long as the dressing doesn't have raw egg in it, it is safe to eat.<br /><br />Like you say, I'd eat it up nice and quick to be doubly safe. <br /><br />YUM potato salad! I bought some potatoes from the supermarket and am roasting them for dinner. Just really felt like some!]]>

But what if I made potato salad at home, with one of those Eta potato salad mix jars for the 'sauce'? I would make it and keep in our fridge, and use within a day of making.<br /><br />I'm just not sure, I guess the listeria risk would be the same if it's kept in my fridge as it is in a deli? Which would make home potato salad a no go?<br /><br />Man, I really feel like potato salad right now. Seems I feel like all the things I'm supposed to avoid, lol.
