Hope everyone (and their toddlers are well).

Are all the toddlers getting excited about Christmas? Ella is so much more into this year- she 'helped' us put up the Christmas tree last weekend and decided that one of the Santa decorations was her toy and now brings it with her everywhere. She also loves Christmas songs- Jingle bells & I saw Mummy kissing Santa Claus are her favourites. She is still a little bit unsure about Santa- she says she loves Santa (but that is because she now realises that Santa is going to bring her presents), but when she sees Santa at the shopping mall she goes all shy. We have her daycare xmas party this Friday so will be interesting to see how she is around Santa (last year she started crying as soon as he appeared).

Poor Jake being sick.

I think I am going to start moving the potty to the bathroom and get her used to going there, and then start working on the toilet. Whenever we are out, she just holds it in until we get home- seriously impressed with her badder control.

She also got sick of the marshmallows, so doesn't ask for them anymore (I was a bit worried about how I was going to wean her off them).

Ah...just noticed your ticker babe. Congratulations on the boy I have got my scan in 2 weeks time- can't wait to find out the sex. Everyone is convienced its a boy, but we will see.....

TT update. it is going really well. Very few accidents and now 99% of the time will tell me when a wee is coming. She even managed to do a wee at daycare on the toilet, which I was quite proud about. Poo's have been a different story, but I think in the last day or so we have reached a breakthough and this morning for the first time she told me that a poo was coming and sat down on the potty to do it. Think next week I might try her on the toilet

I decided to start getting serious this weekend so she has spent the whole weekend in knickers and has done really well- only a couple of accidents and that was because she couldn't quite make it to the potty in time. Seems a lot easier using a potty, as it is just there in the living room and we don't have to rush to the bathroom. Have also been using marshmallows as a rewards and she loves them- yesterday she woke up from her nap crying because she did a poo in her nappy and knew that meant she couldn't have a marshmallow, poor little thing had tears going down her face because she was so upset. Luckily today she seems to cope with it alright and just told me 'next time Mummy Ok'.

I am not sure about the childcare subsidy. Now that I am feeling a bit better I need to start looking into all that and the WFF and see what we are entitied to.

I haven't started doing the TT while we are out yet, just very (very) casually at home and basically a mixture of potty and toilet. Maybe you could just start off with the seat at home to get him used to the toilet and not scared and then when you both are a bit confident then work on removing the seat and dealing with the toilet when you are out??? I think we are going to concentrate on getting it sorted at home first before dealing with it outside.

CT- what about using a toddler toilet seat on the normal toilet seat? we got a one from Mitre 10 which we put on the toilet when we need to. didn't cost much from memory.

got made redundant from my job a couple of weeks ago, which really sucks timing wise, as there isn't much point in me looking for a new part-time job now and so I won't get any maternity pay. Oh well, I just need to decide what to do about Ella & daycare now as it's looking like we are going to have to pull her out, which I don't really want to do as she loves going, but might be our only option grrrr

yeah we are planning on finding out. It's nice through, last time I was determined I was going to have a girl- this time around I can honestly say that I don't care whether it's a boy or girl, it's quite a nice feeling

The MS is slowly getting better Rachel- the last couple of days I have only thrown up once, so fx that means the medication is finally working. MS and looking after toddlers sux (which I am sure most of you guys know by now).

thats great about Caprece and TT we have still got Ella just doing a wee before and after her bath, but she is so ready to be TT during the day (tells me now when she is doing a wee in her nappy) I just need to get the energy to do it- maybe in a couple of weeks.

hope spencer has settled into sleeping a big bed and yay for his last tooth coming through. After all the pain Ella has a while ago when her molars where moving around, we have had nothing since so am still waiting for them to come through (although I am hoping they are a while off, as I am feeling so sick at the moment the last thing I can deal with is a teething toddler).

she is having her first sleepover at Mum & Dads tonight. Have just spoken to her on the phone to say good night (I love how I can have converasations with her on the phone). Hopefully it goes well, as I have a feeling we will be needing her to stay there a bit more often now, as I am feeling sooooooo tired and sick at the moment, I just need a bit of a break (and I feel a bit bad for her having to be around sick me all the time).

On a good note, had an early scan on Fri and saw the baby's heartbeat and everything looks good

took Ella to butterfly creek yesterday- she loved feeding all the animals and got quite attacted to one of the sheep there and when I went to see her this morning she was sitting up in her bed chattering away about her friend the sheep.

how is everyone getting on with the toilet training? after giving up for a while (Ella started refusing to sit on the potty) she has now done a wee on the potty 2 nights in a row just before bed. after having a bath she loving dancing around in her room naked, so I just started leaving the potty in her room and after a while after dancing she has sat on it and done the wee (although last night she was a bit disappointed as she told me that we wanted to a poo and not a wee, but no poo would come out). might just carry on doing this for a while and then get a bit more into it once spring comes.

Yeah I am not a big fan of first part of pregnancy either. Since I had MS really,really bad the first time around am going to get the doc to prescibe me some anti-nausea pills, so hopefully the will help (didn't take them until 12 weeks last time and I wished I had taken them sooner).

it must be hard Stacey, especially coming on OhBaby and seeing all the pregnancy annoucements.

hey all ekk Nikki, Morgan was a big baby for you. How are things going with her and Jake? How is in with her?

Found out earlier in the week that I was pregnant- am very excited, although I think DH is still a shocked it happened so fast (was our first month of TTC)- feels a bit cheated. MS seems to have kicked in already (earlier than last time), so am hoping the next couple of months go by quickly.

Ella has been so chatty lately- I swear from the moment she wakes up to the moment she goes to sleep she talks nonstop.

Congrats Nikki and welcome Morgan Wow what a decent sized baby! was Jake a similar size when he was born?

Happy birthday to all those toddlers who have turned 2 this past week.

Yeah Miss she never sits still! Dinner is a real mission, because even sitting down on her seat is always wiggling all over the place. She must be a bit of a growth spurt at the moment through, as she is eating heaps and sleeping 13 hrs at night.

Ah Lily looks like a real cutie. Ella loves going to butterfly creek as well, haven't been there for a while through so must get around to going back soon. We took Ella to the Zoo on her birthday and she is currently obsessed with it- the week leading up to her birthday she woke up every morning asking if we were going to the Zoo today and everyone she meant she would tell them about all the animals at the Zoo.

had ella's 2 year check up today. Weighs 13.3 kgs and 89cm tall, so above the 75% line for both. she didn't sit still the entire time and the nurse was asking if she was always this active (umm yes!).

Poor Kalyx- hopefully Brae doesn't get them as well (having 1 sick child is bad enough).

Well we have had a bit of break through in the past week- have managed to finally wean Ella, without too much drama (just told her that Mummys milk was all gone now that she was a big girl and after 1 mini meltdown she was fine- still asks for it every now and then, but then once I remind her that it's all gone she asks for milk in a cup). Also since she has been weaned she has started sleeping through and now sleeps 7 to 7.30 I glad I did this way and she got there on her own without me leaving her to cry (i just need to get me in the habit of sleeping through the night as well).

Is anyones else toddlers going through a real independant stage at the moment? Ella has to do everything herself now and refuses any help...in some ways it is good, but when it takes her 1/2 hr to put her socks on (she can put the sock of her right foot all right, but can't do her left foot) it gets a bit frustrating- several times in the past week we have gone shopping with her only wearing 1 shoe & sock because she refused any offers of help. Also I can't help with feeding her (I can't even look at her spoon without her saying 'no mummy help, away', brushing her teeth, washing her hair etc.

We brought her a big bed last weekend and she went staight in it no problems- so yay! helped that her cot sides have been off for about 6 months now. She looks so tiny through in the bed, but is good that she has bit of extra room to roll around.

went to visit a friends newborn today- forgotton how tiny they can be (and how small the nappies are). Ella was really good with the baby and was talking about it all afternoon and was asking when we are going to see the baby again (and I quote) "mummy cuddle baby".

Yay for Jake liking the bath again- toddlers ah! who knows what goes through their mind most of the time.

Yay also for Jake sleeping the big bed. You are doing well with him still in the safety sleep- we had to drop ours around 10 months as Ella wasn't having a bar of it. Luckily now she is pretty good about sleeping under the duvet and staying there for most of the night.

Was just talking to DH about how this is such an amazing age- the amount of new words Ella is picking up (and I imagine other toddlers too) is just amazing, now she just has to hear a new word and she can repeat it back and her gasp of sentences and word order is happening so fast. At the moment she is learning all the colours- yellow seems to be her favourite, but I think that is because she likes the sound of the word (the word umbrella seems to be another favourite word).

She is miss indepandant at the moment, so all day long I hear ' no mummy, no help Ella ,way mummy' (with her pointing to the opposite end of the room where I am suppose to go and stand).

Happy Mothers Day to everyone hope you all got looked after by your DP/DH. Ella gave me a card and some PJ's and then DH took her to Chipmunks in the afternoon, so I just spent the afternoon relaxing at home.

ella likes to have the bath pretty cold as well (I can now not have a bath with her as I like my baths really hot)- she is also pretty fussy about the temparature of her food and it has to be quite cold as well (again polar opposite to me).

I am never had any nights away from Ella. We have had to stay over at parents for a couple of nights, but I have always gone with her. She is still not the greatest night sleeper, so I feel bad getting someone else to deal with her. She is also going through a very clingy phase at the moment.

We have to pull the plug out of the bath with Ella still in there every night, as she likes to wait until the very last bit of water have gone and only then will she finally get out.
