thanks guys- sounds like they might be a goer. So glad i didn't buy them earlier today through, as when I posted they weren't on special, but what a bargain at $9 and yeah I was looking at getting a 2pack of tops as well  .

Love them. You should definitley get a pair or 3 for Ella. They are fantastic for cloth bums, lots of room and easy to get over even the bulkier nappies. Plus they are really cute and really generous in sizing. Sam is still in the 3-6 mth ones and they are still far to big. I have ordered the 6-9 mth ones for later because the price is so great at the moment.
On a side note, the 2 pack of long sleeved t's are on sale too and they are so gorgeous. Sam wears hers alot!! I them! The gremlins are 19 mths and still in sz 6-9 mths, and they fit beautifully over cloth butts, plus they are a great company to deal with. I haven't tried them yet but we have some in the drawer, 6-9month old size I think and they look alot bigger than some of our other 6-9month sized pants.
