I work in IT and computers can be tracked by more than just an IP address, most people would not even know where to find it. I am sure the admin team are onto it. In the end if she does somehow log in from an internet cafe of anything, lets just all hope that she reads our posts and that she gets the help she so obviously needs.

I am an april mum to be and I felt so sorry for her when I read her post, as did many of the others in the april thread. So does anyone know if she was actually pregnant at all? I actually in a strange way do feel sorry for her because she must be pretty messed up to do this whole story. well Claire or whatever she wants to be called now - cause I am sure she is lurking somehow...is a psycho...and needs professional help....and if 06 baby is for real she will be pushing for that...im sorry but i still doubt a couple of people on here are for real...and all i can say is if you are lying on here you will be found out eventually...and we will all think you are nuts!!! as you obviously are....NUTS!

BTW i can vouch for Emmas twins and pregnancy but not her mental health...LOL.....nor mine at times like this!

I would like to see this thread stopped given that it is giving Claire or whatever a voice in our OB site that I dont think she deserves at all.

Hi

I have been a lurker since I first found out I was pregnant - I am now just over 27 weeks. Like everyone else who has posted in this thread, I was blown away by such an incredibly sad situation - I have thought about 'Claire' quite alot over the weekend whilst prodding my tummy to ensure my own little one is still there.

I guess I just want to say that although I have never posted, keeping up with the due in July women (and lots of the other threads) has filled me with confidence about my own pregnancy because I knew there were others going through everything I have been going through. What I've discovered is that a parent to be's concern and love for their child begins well before you actually get to hold that little baby in your arms. Oh Baby has fulfilled many of the needs I didn't even know I would have as a first timer and by reading many posts I've discovered what an amazing support system (and grower of friendships) this site obviously is.

Please, please continue to believe in the positive nature of this site - it has made me laugh and cry and has definitely made me feel more knowledgable. One day I may actually get brave enough to show my face properly with the due in July ladies (who are probably not very impressed that I have lurked for so long!!) - in the meantime I have felt happier knowing that should I need to ask for advice or support, it is here in all these wonderful people.

I really didn't want to get involved in these posts... but....

I feel really bad for everyone who was duped and had spent time feeling upset and worried (both for Claire and for their own babies), and now those who are feeling misled, betrayed and bewildered. I know I was really upset and lost faith in my own body and belief that all would go well for me after my own losses.

Having said that, mental illness is so hard to explain and understand. There is bipolar and schizophrenia in my extended family (not immediate, thankfully), and I have seen people truely, really, honestly believe the most absurd and irrational things, things you'd just want to shake out of them they were so bizarre, and then the same people try to convince others they had it fully together, and it was us who were misguided and blind. These are things that are so far out (for example, that the little boy one family member had babysat 25 years ago had somehow taken control of my cousins computer and brain and could read all of their thoughts). It is quite heartbreaking, and so difficult to get your head around. And there was little way, without medication, that you could convince otherwise. No amount of rational talk would work.

I think there is a good chance Claire honestly believed her own lies and is in desperate need of help. I can't explain how you can dupe yourself, but even faced with reality she probably still believed what she was saying was true. I really hope her immediate family get this for her and that everyone can overcome this traumatic experience.

Maybe I am wrong? She could just be a vindictive, attentions seeking cow, but this just seems too sick and hurtful for that to be true.

My thoughts are with Claire's partner, who must be just so confused and hurt at the moment.

Hey ladies, in light of all the recent "happenings" in this thread, I wanted to send all my best wishes and happy babie thoughts to all of you that are starting your journey into mummy-hood or already enjoying the ride!

I think we need to put this subject to bed now, and all just move on. We are a lovely supportive community, lets not ruin it by becoming all bitter and cycnical.

I have personally gained so much supportive from people on here, many of whom I have never met IRL, and I would like to think that we are all pretty genuine characters. Thanks again to admin for making it a safer place for us all to belong.

Wow - what a shock, although I thought there was something fishy going on, when she was posting all those messages in the March thread - wasn't it her that said her due dates had been bought back a whole month just a while ago!?

I was really sad to hear that someone could lose not one, but 2 babies and have been worried for not only me, but others on this site! I've even told a few people I know about this and they were sad too!

my best wishes to you and your 06baby. and my wishesh and thoughts are with claire's family too. yes they may b helping her hide this, but she needs help, and i hope and pray that someone will step up and give them the help and support they need. i'm pleased that admin have stepped up and taken notice. it shows a lot for the sincerity of the admin group too. and thank you 06baby for filling us all in. now i think we need to elave it to rest. yes we are all p'd off, but what good can come from us complaining about it.

Im glad to read that Claire will no longer be on this site!!!!
I read her post the other day and felt a huge saddness for her loss,and how unfair life can be
Ive had a horrible weekend thinking bout my own bubs and been worried when I think she hasnt moved.Ive cried to my Mum and DP, and have felt so sad for her.
This Claire girl ruined my weekend and im sure a few other peoples too.
She needs help, and the sooner she gets it the better.

06baby, i feel so sorry for your brother, he is the only one truly grieving for his lost sons, he must feel like he has had his 'sons' die, as far as he knew, his partner was great and having his babies.

As I have said earlier, we strive to make OHbaby! a safe and supportive community for all, and we take this kind of deception very seriously. We have deleted Claire's membership, and we have a method of tracking her IP address to prevent her re-registering with a different name.

I agree with Neosha's mummy tho - whilst there are a few weirdos out there, most people ARE genuine, and I think it would be sad to see us lose the trust of our valued members over the actions of one disturbed person. You can rest assured that our admin team is vigilant, we do keep an eye on things like this and we have an absolute zero tolerance policy on deception.

As far as having scans in Rotorua, whenever i had my scans with my twins (which r real) and Blair there was only one place to ring. That i knew of.
The town isn't that big thats prob why you have to book a couple of weeks in advance.

What a horrible thing to do. This girl PM me asking for support because we are in the same city. When I heard that she lost the babies I was really sad for most of the weekend- and then to hear that it was not true!

I have a feeling that she was attention seeking and it just spiralled out of control. Especially saying she was having twins would have made a lot of people interested in her pregnancy. And then when she was "due" she knew she would have to provide a story as to why she dosnt have any babies- the story she chose also gave her alot of attention which is what she obviously thrives on. She really needs help because will the charade stop there? I doubt it.

Claire, I know you have been logging on and reading the posts. You should be ashamed of yourself for deceiving, lieing and hurting so many people...especially those close to you (partner etc). I believe in Karma and I know that this lie will come and bite you back. As for your Mum, well she has failed you by not teaching you this valuable lesson. Have you not heard of the boy who cried wolf. I am simply stunned that someone would come on here and play this little game just for their own fun. I dont post on the mums to be thread at the moment... back to TTC after baby loss in Jan. But I had to post to express my shock, shock for all you march/april MTBs who have had this imposter cause this stress.
I shouldn't be surprised as I have meet some aholes on the net, it is so easy to create a whole new person and if what I have read is true, good for 06baby to make a stand and say what is what.
I have also met some really wonderful people on the net, so for all of you who are disallusioned, take heart that MOST people on the net are real and actually do mean what they say.

WTF????  I had no idea this was going on! This is WEIRD. Even by my standards and I have heard some pretty weird things (ex 111 communicator)!

Am really sorry for anyone this Claire girl has hurt by her weird untruthful posts. Maybe we should set up some sort of vouching system although I guess it's gonna be hard cos we don't want to exclude people from joining ohbaby.... I mean this is one place I feel I can come to and vent my feelings about ttc and miscarrying etc without people judging me. What Claire did is completely taking advantage of people who have actually lived through the pain she claimed to have.

i can vouch for you emma. lolo. she does have twins, and she is pregnant. and i know two other people who know her and her twins too. And thank you for letting us know that admin is looking into this as well. i think there are quite a few mums and mum's to be out there who cannot believe this has happened. i haven't really got all the time in the world to look back over the march thread for her posts, but did think it sus or at least extra good luck that she was still preggy with twins and then sus or extra bad luck she lost both at delivery without any prior signs of distress. we now know that it wasn't true, and the thing we can take away from it all is truth is best. and if you read all teh birth stories around, i'm sure you will see that no matter what, some good comes from every birth. lol. normally it's the beautiful child. and most births go perfectly fine. basically i just wanna give you mums expecting a cheerful note to read to say that i'm sure with the right monitoring, things will work out for you all.

Well ladies, I've HAD twins, and I can tell you, even I was fooled! Claire emailed me weeks ago with questions about her pregnancy and to find out she wasn't even pregnant at all was a real shock. I even told her how slack I thought her midwife/OB were for not monitoring her closely enough at such a late stage.

From an admin perspective, we did have some information given to us on Saturday night that Claire had been lying, and we are looking into it further today and will address her once we have finished our investigation. Given that she managed to dupe even her entire family, fooling an online community would be a piece of cake. Our aim is, and always has been, to make OHbaby! as safe and supportive a community as possible, and we will continue to strive for this, although I personally think that this serves as a reminder to all of us that the internet can be a misleading place.

If claire is reading any of these threads, I hope she realises how many people belived her! How so many of us over the weekend have suddenly felt panicked and worried about our own babies yet to be born. After reading some of her posts it did not all make sense, but I never thought anyone could go so low as to make up a story like this. I feel sorry for her for needing to make up a story to have people pay attention to her. I did think a few things were weird of her story, but i never would have imagined that she was lying.

well actually what happened was her dad finally convinced her to go to the hospital sometime thursday night, and of course they got there and said they couldnt find a heartbeat, so they examined her and said she wasnt pregnant.

well cantrad I feel like i have to apologise profusely to the rotorua hospitals and midwives lol, for the last however months i have been effing and blinding about how useless they must be to leave her so long and everything else she's told us hasnt been done - and now i find out that the only reason we thought that is cos she wasnt even using the bloody midwives and things!

And one thing that really makes sense now is how she thought you could only hear baby's heartbeat when you went for a scan and was really surprised when mum said we'd heard my baby's heartbeat at a routine mw check. I'm so Pi**ed off about this, my friend just lost one of her twin boys 2 weeks after giving birth to him. I don't care what anyone says (and has said in previous threads) about her needing our support as she's obviously got issues, there is NO excuse for this when there are people out there suffering. I wish there was the whole AV thing like on TM to keep truly sick people like her out of here.

And to think I felt sorry for her. Yes MyBelly her mother does know, but it sounds like she's carrying on the lie, telling people that she was pregnant 2 weeks ago and that's a fact. I'd be extrememly worried if the hospital system in rotorua was that stuffed up that they couldn't find a baby when there's meant to be two in there at 29 weeks on ultrasound.

How disgusting.

I hope she gets the help she needs, before she does this kind of thing again.

I had my Mum staying here this weekend, I told her about it and we spent all weekend thinking about her and her sad loss.

I feel so cheated. But I did wonder when she said they "died sometime earlier in the pregnancy" why that wasn't picked up days before hand at her weekly mw appointment.

HI ladies, im not a teen mum but am 26 weeks preggers with twins, and my baby girl has got IUGR, so they are worried about her growth, I was so worried all weekend that could happen to my babies. I am glad she made it up cause it makes me not worry so much but how the hell do you do that, there is people in the world who have lost babies at fullterm or to miscarriage and it is not sumthing to mess around with. I have had 3 losses myself and it is never ok to lie about it. i agree ladies, it'sa sucha sad thing to do! i know a lady who lost a baby at 36weeks, they delivered her by emergency c section adn then the baby had brain damage so they turned off life support. it's deffinately not something you kid about! i did think it was strange tho when i heard she'd lost them coz she didn't mention lack of movement etc.

Thats exactly what i did and what i was thinking! and i wondered because surely if the babies had died earlier in the preg the modwife would have picked it up, or not picked up any heartbeats, i found it odd, she never said about not feeling any movement etc.

I cried for her and held my own baby daughter close to me and cried for all the other women who havent had the chance to hold their babies close, now i feel cheated by her.

Hi ladies
I just wanted to let you all know that I know of 06baby. Not personally but we are on another forum together, in the same due in group.
It was her that first mentioned about her SIL and how she had lied etc in the other forum. I mentioned this girl on here that sounded very familiar so she come in to read up on what she had been posting. Everything matched, name, where she lived, everything.

I felt absolutely sick to come on here and read that Claire had supposedly lost her babies when in fact I thought it wasn't true.
But what can you do about it. You can't exactly accuse someone of lying when you could be wrong, that would be just terrible.

I'm really glad that the true has come out as I know so many of us were genuinely sad for her. To lose 2 babies at once is such a horrible thing to go through and its just not right for everyone to think she had lost them, when she hadn't.

I actually went and read alot of her posts from the March group and when you read a lot of the things she says it doesn't make sense. I mean, she claimed to have been leaking waters since she was about 28 weeks. Plus if you look at those belly pics, to me that doesn't look like a pregnant tum at all, just the tum of a big person.

Anyway I'm glad this has come out, hugs to all of you that this has really affected. Are you serious? Her whole pregnancy wasn't real?!!! But I cried everytime I read about it! And I even told my Nana about it when I saw her yesterday, that's how affected I was about hearing of little twins being stillborn!! I too cant believe it and I also had myself thinking I was really lucky that my bubs were ok etc and then feeling kinda guilty you know? Im SOOO glad I found out tho.. Def an AWFUL and SICK thing to do esp to those of us who ARE actually pregnant and our pics and post are REAL!!!!!!

 

Is she gunna be allowed to come back into the group coz I sure as hell dont feel comfortable about it PLUS regardless of wether she has issues etc IMHO THAT IS NOOOO EXCUSE TO LIE AND DECEIVE OTHERS ABOUT A FAKE PREGNANCY!

 

Sorry ladies for my rant, its just really p*ssed me off....

 

Hugs to all of those that this has affected ie the families and also us on here that actually fell for it hook, line and sinker...

omg! Thats just sick!! Gosh I cant believe I got upset for this girl! GRRRRRRR

You know I did actually wonder why she wasnt as hospital if her waters had broken...she said she went to hospital for a check 30 hours later, that seemed a long time to wait at home, especially with twins! Its even worse, considering IF she stole those tummy pics, she now has over 100 posts and can get into our photo section!!
