I went with hospital stuff too. With my first baby I felt awkward with others seeing me in hospital clothes so I just wore clothes 24/7! That's because I had a c/s and couldn't stand much so only changed once a day. I felt better with it in the end though cause when the doctors do their rounds in the morning it didn't matter whether I had just woken or not, I was at least decent.

With #3 she was VB (and therefore a bit messier), I went with hospital gowns so I wouldn't have to take any washing home. I wore a maternity bra underneath so I felt somewhat dressed. A t-shirt will probably add the most warmth you'll need - like Emma said, even in winter. I guess it depends on how much weight you put on during your pregnancy and how much you lose during the birth.

I put on 10kgs in the 9 months and lost 7kgs in the few hours it took to give birth. That meant the next day I was back into my pre-pregnancy trackpants but I still had a big loose sack wear my baby had been so I was comfortable wearing a size up from my pre-pregnancy size (my pjs were mediums but I'd normally wear small).

What size PJs/trackies did you buy? I'm normally a 12 - would large be big enough for post-baby belly? And while I'm asking, what about breastfeeding singlets - I like the idea but don't want anything too huge or too tiny (though would rather have huge than tiny I guess!)

Ditto on the pj pants and breastfeeding singlet. I wore the gown for the first day (bleeding and stuff) and then got dressed in comfy pants and singlet during the day. It made me feel way better than sitting round in my pjs all day, as if I was on the road to recovery more or something (it's all in the head!!).

So true I was sweating like a pig the whole time in was in there with Caprece. I took PJs and normal clothes for day time (trackies etc). I took both and ended up wearing nighties coz my deflated tum was a different shape to what I expected and the PJ's didn't sit right.

I brought a nightshirt with buttons when I had DD. I wore it in hospital and for bf at home.
I did also take PJ's.

I personally did feel more comfortable in a bra, nightshirt, knickers & pad than I did in bra, PJ's, knickers & pad. I just wore the hospital nighties too. While you couldn't say they're particularly stunning they were comfy esp after having a c-sect. And no washing either

I would have said PJs as well however I was destined to have a c-section so went for the nightie option. Which was definitely more comfy in that scenario

Also the buttons down the front on the nightie made no convenience for me as I was double expressing/feeding so had to whip off the nightie anyway.
