I was going to say SNOT too The amount varies from person to person from a little bit to a huge amount. Mine was the huge amount, followed by waters breaking and then birth 3.5hrs later. Sounds very "showy" to me.
I had 24 hours of lower back pains (very regular and increased in strength) then I got a very thick mucus with a tinge of red and brown blood.
Within 6 hours I was 4cm dilated and in full labour.
