I have IBS so most of the things they recommend ie. teas, licorice etc I can't have either.

Well the m/w didn't even have the results from the last scan so we couldn't plot them. Because of the time of year, the results places weren't operating etc and they're always useless at sending stuff through to her (usually takes 3 weeks if she doesn't track them down immediately). She still thinks bubs is quite small by feeling him, guess our next scan (Friday) will tell. Fundal height is 38 weeks though, so that's good.

So basically will just be playing the waiting game. Went for a brisk walk with DH this evening and now I'm having heaps of BH, pelvic pain and back pain. Might even force myself to have some cuddles tonight Poor DH, he knows he's being used but he really doesn't care!

I'm not even overdue yet, so you're holding up well! Must be really good at baking babies!

When I had an internal done a couple of days ago m/w couldn't reach the cervix to do a S&S. She thinks that because of bubs position (posterior) the pain has been him getting into the best position he possibly can be before labour. She could feel his head etc, just the opening was too far away and would have hurt me too much. I think I have the same thing as my mum, cos she's always had issues with internals too. Guess we'll wait and see! M/w appt in 15 mins so better get a wriggle on, but we'll be plotting the growth to see if he's growing OK and if not they may make an induction date (I doubt it though, I definitely think he's had a growth spurt).

She also strapped me to the CTG which shows I'm in the early stages of labour but they're nowhere near regular yet. She definitely thinks I won't be sleeping much tonight and that I won't need my m/w appt next Wednesday, so hopefully she's right!

Busymum - I do have a posterior baby, so I've been told from now on I have to sit straddling a chair to try and get him to spin around. I don't know how much luck I'll have cos I felt where his head is this morning and it's so low I'm surprised I'm not walking more like John Wayne than I am!

DH went and got me some Panadeine as well which I'm allowed to take tonight. M/w said its fine so hopefully that might help a little bit if its still going on.

Told mum and also told her not to panic just yet. DH's mum might be another story!

I wouldn't call them yet because honestly you could have that for the next day, or you could have it for a couple of hours and then a repeat next week. So I wouldn't call them yet. But you are definitely having early labour symptoms. It's just whether it sets in or not.

The tightenings in your tummy are contractions and if they get 30 seconds long x1 or 2 every 10 minutes then you'll wanna call your parents by then. The pains in your back indicate that you may have a posterior baby - that often means a longer first stage of labour (what you've got).

What would your parents' plans be if they arrived and things all settled/stopped? I'd be inclined to give your heads up that she may need to come over tomorrow or Sunday but not today.

Hope that helps and isn't too depressing! I've got the back pains, have been feeling really funny for the last couple of days and now I've got all over stomach pains that seem to peak but they're not really defined enough to time or anything. It's only been going on for an hour or so now, but I really want to know either way as both my and DH's parents have to travel 4 hours to get here and they all want to be at the birth if possible! (They're annoyed I'm not getting induced now because at least they would DEFINITELY be here hehe)

So for those of you who have been there, should I just wait it out and see if it gets worse or call the parents to give them a heads up? I don't want to get my mum too excited because she will rush back straight away and it might be a false alarm.
