We went with Andrew when he was 18 odd months old and he loved it. We only stayed overnight with DH's family. Andrew was great all night long - even with all the drunkn noise we were making. There were toilets there but no showers - not that we needed them.

We did it when Briona was 6mos and Hannah 2y2mos. There were toilets there and we only stayed overnight. We cuddled the girls to sleep and all shared a lilo - was a bit nervewracking cause every move and you think you'll wake the kids but they were actually better sleepers than us!

As for bathing, if you're on holiday go ahead and skip a couple. It will be great and depending on where and what type of campground you go to they will have heaps of facilities.

My only word of warning, is I went camping at Waihi Beach one year, and was kept awake all night by someone's crying baby, obviously with tents there isn't a lot of sound proofing. A crying baby doesn't go down too well in a popular camp ground. Sorry.

what about things like giving the twins a bath? would a big 40ltr ,i think they, are container work?

Do it! If you don't start early, your kids won't be used to it when they're older. You'll have heaps of fun and Tash will love it. thats what i thought. but part of me is saying that to even think about going camping with young kiddies is grounds for being declared insane!!
we would stay at camp grounds with toilets and showers.....
i am just thinking that if we had to pay less for accomodation we couold stay longer/go more places.

Why not?! It'll be a blast I reckon. My family have been going camping on the same piece of land for nearly 45 years, no water or toilets (we bring and empty our own - it's not pretty!) and everyone has always brought their kids. My cousin was 3 weeks old when she first went camping. I plan on taking Jack if he's born before Xmas (m/w said at 10 days old if he's fine, camping is a great idea). I guess the only considerations would be: can you fit everything you need into your car and possibly trailer? And keeping the kids warm at night in a tent. hi all,
i am thinking about buying a two possibly 3 room tent off trademe so that next summer we can go camping as a family....camping is alot cheaper then staying in motels and stuff. and i want to my kids to have great summer memories of camping by the beach.

am i crazy thinking about going camping with three kids. the twins will be around 9 months old and tash will be 3/4. has anyone done the whole family camping holday with young kiddies?
anyone got any advice?
