Don't know how good it is but if you're in AKL Borders have one in the children's book section which has tracks of white noise, vacuum cleaner, hairdryer, washing machine etc.

I just bought a $6.99 lullabies CD from the Warehouse, and yes it drove me mental listening to it on repeat over the monitor, but it definitely worked. i think the sleep store do white noise cd's... or you could ask the oh baby sleep experts...(who i think are the sleep store anyway.?)

Recommendations on good ones? There's a limit to the amount of time I can spend standing next to a bassinet going 'shhhhhhhh, shhhhhhhh'

I tried finding static on the radio, but our radio makes a really annoying whining sound wherever there's static, so that's a no go unless I buy a new radio - and I don't like my chances of walking into a shop and asking for a radio that makes a nice static noise!
