I nearly had a homebirth.... nearly didn't make it to Burwood! not being woken up by nurses to check that your ok, and other crying babies is a bonus too. Also being able to eat when and what you want.

I had a homebirth with my DS, after having a c/s with the first and a VBAC (vaginal birth after c/s) with my second. My homebirth was the first birth i had no drugs and it was fantastic. I felt so in control and my DP was so much more involved in the birth than at the hospital. We had an unplanned one due to a very short labour. It was great and I would definately plan it next time. My contractions felt much more manageable than when I had DD, probably because I was so much more relaxed.

I enjoyed having Caleb put straight on me after he was born to cuddle skin-to-skin for about half an hour and was tucked up in my own bed feeding him shortly after giving birth. I slept so much better in my own environment and it was nice to have the support of DP 24/7 for those first few days.

The midwife visited each day for the first few days. Hi there,

I had a homebirth with my son and was awesome, much better than hospital birth i had with my daughter.
I'm due at end of oct and booked in for homebirth with this one. Going to use a birthing pool this time.
